MOWGLI (2018): New Trailer From Benedict Cumberbatch, Cate Blanchett, Christian Bale, Matthew Rhys…

Directed by Andy Serkis, Mowgli is another live-action adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s beloved adventure story, the one about an orphaned boy raised by wolves.

Key cast includes Rohan Chand, Benedict Cumberbatch, Cate Blanchett, Christian Bale, Matthew Rhys, Freida Pinto…

I’m interested to find out the ways in which this version of The Jungle Book story will differ from the rather good Jon Favreau directed version, The Jungle Book (2016).

Tom Hollander, Jack Reynor and Peter Mullan also star.

Mowgli Release Dates: 2019 (US & UK)…

Happy Film Loving

  1. I’ve been a Jungle Book fan for most of my 39 year life. I find myself more excited for the Mowgli film then I was for the Disney remake. Mostly due to it being more closely tied to the actual book. Disney basically added characters, removed characters, and changed the entire feel of the story. Just to make it attractive to children. The 2016 remake moved from that a bit, but still kept it light hearted and whimsical. But the book was anything but that. I still loved the Disney remake, but it’s not what I grew up reading.
Naturally, changes are being made for the Mowgli film. Characters added to help drive the story for the screen. And, thankfully, no silly music numbers. Like the book, there is no King Lowie in this film. They did keep Mowgli’s hair long, and his skin scared. For legal reasons they are putting him in a loincloth. In the book, this didn’t happen until he went into the village.

As I said, I’m a old Jungle Book fan. And very much looking forward to this film.

    1. To be honest I’m more familiar with Disney’s versions than I am with the original book. Nevertheless I’m excited to learn that this new version will likely be a little closer to Kipling’s original story. Who knows, maybe one day someone will tell the story as it was intended. Maybe you? 😁

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. 🤓
