TÁR (2022): New Trailer From Cate Blanchett, Noémie Merlant, Nina Hoss, Mark Strong…

The setting of director Todd Field’s latest film is the international world of classical music.

Central to the story is Lydia Tár (Cate Blanchett) who happens to be widely considered one of the greatest living composers/conductors, and the very first ever female chief conductor of a major German orchestra.

Mark Strong, Noémie Merlant and Nina Hoss are among the key cast.

Sometimes a trailer is unique and it features a great actor or two. Yet, because of how seemingly moody it appears to be, I’m not moved to watch it. But then I learn about the compelling subject matter, and as a fan of the possibilities of film, suddenly, I have to see Tár.

Are you also moved to watch this one, or is it too… something?

Noémie Merlant, Nina Hoss, Sophie Kauer, Mark Strong and Sydney Lemmon also star.

Tár Release Dates: January 20th, 2023 (UK)…

Cate Blanchett, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Timothée Chalamet and Leonardo DiCaprio are the stars of new drama/comedy/sci-fi movie Don’t Look Up.

Directed by Adam McKay; at the centre of the story are two low-level astronomers who must go on a giant media tour to warn mankind of an approaching comet; the kind that will completely destroy planet Earth.

Great title for a movie about an ‘end of the world event’ coming from above, right?

I’m very ready for the comedy and dramatics that this wonderful cast is going to deliver. Also happy to see Lawrence back. These days I just love seeing DiCaprio in non-biographical movies. I think I got my fill with Catch Me if You Can (2002), The Aviator (2004), J. Edgar (2011); which all seemed to happen in quick succession.

Gina Gershon, Matthew Perry, Mark Rylance, Ron Perlman, Ariana Grande, Jona Hill also star.

Don’t Look Up Release Dates: December 24th, 2021, (US & UK), Netflix…

New drama Mrs. America has Cate Blanchett playing Conservative activist Phyllis Schlafly. Schlafly becomes the leader of an unexpected fight against the Equal Rights Amendment movement in the 1970s.

Uzo Aduba, Elizabeth Banks, Sarah Paulson and Rose Byrne are among the key cast.

I’d been wondering about where one of my favourite actresses had gone. Turns out Blanchett was busy working on a very promising new drama I simply can’t wait to see.

Knowing how far we’ve come with the fight for equal rights, I’m looking forward to seeing Schlafly’s journey unfold. I’d also like to find out to what extent she remained adamant that the Equal Rights Amendment was a bad idea.

Kayli Carter, Jay Ellis, Ari Graynor, Melanie Lynskey, James Marsden, Margo Martindale, Niecy Nash, John Slattery and Jeanne Tripplehorn also star.

Mrs. America Release Dates: April 15th, 2020 (US) / Hulu…

I see the words ‘anxiety-ridden’ and the name Cate Blanchett a.k.a ‘acting queen of my heart’ and the excitement is real. I’m looking forward to finding out the circumstances of her disappearance and just watching Blanchett act.

Key cast includes Rohan Chand, Benedict Cumberbatch, Cate Blanchett, Christian Bale, Matthew Rhys, Freida Pinto…

I’m interested to find out the ways in which this version of The Jungle Book story will differ from the rather good Jon Favreau directed version, The Jungle Book (2016).

THE HOUSE WITH A CLOCK IN ITS WALLS (2018): New Trailer From Cate Blanchett, Jack Black, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Braxton Bjerken…

The House With A Clock In Its Walls (2018), Cate Blanchett

The House With A Clock In Its Walls, features a clock with the power to bring about the end of the world – and young orphan Lewis Barnavelt must aid his magical uncle in locating it.

Directed by Eli Roth, Cate Blanchett, Jack Black, Renée Elise Goldsberry and Braxton Bjerken are among the stars…

Knowing that Jack Black would be in this movie meant that the trailer had my attention. But, a trailer having my attention is not much compared to how exited I am when said trailer surprises me with the fact that ‘acting queen’ Cate Blanchett is a key cast member. The last time this happened, I was watching the trailer for Kenneth Branagh’s Cinderella (2015)  – the reason why Cinderella is officially my favourite Disney movie.

Besides Blanchett and Black, I’m in for the mystery and magic.

Kyle MacLachlan, Lorenza Izzo, Colleen Camp, Perla Middleton and Braxton Bjerken also star.

The House With A Clock In Its Walls Release Dates: September 21st, 2018 (US); September 28th, 2018 (UK)…

OCEAN’S 8 (2018): New Trailer From Cate Blanchett, Sandra Bullock, Rihanna…

Ocean's 8 (2018), Cate Blanchett, Sandra Bullock
Ocean’s 8 (2018), Cate Blanchett, Sandra Bullock

Directed and co-written by Gary Ross, Oceans 8 is an all-female leading cast that stars Sandra Bullock as Debbie Ocean. Ocean gathers a crew to attempt an impossible heist at New York City’s yearly Met Gala.

It looks as though Debbie is supposed to be a relation of Danny Ocean rather than a female Danny Ocean character, in a world where George Clooney’s Danny Ocean never existed. interesting.

I really want Ocean’s 8 to be good and my hopes are relatively high mainly because Cate Blanchett is in it. Such pressure on ‘queen Cate’.

Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Anne Hathatway, Dakota Fanning, Samantha Cocozza and Olivia Munn also star.

Ocean’s 8 Release Dates: June 8th, 2018 (US); June 22nd, 2018 (UK)…

THOR – RAGNAROK (2017): New Trailer From Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Cate Blanchett, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba…

Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Cate Blanchett, Tom Hiddleston and Idris Elba are back for the next Thor movie instalment. Directed by Taika Waititi, in Thor – Ragnarok,  Thor, the hammer wielding god of thunder, lightning, storms, etcetera, must face the Incredible Hulk in a gladiator match and save his people from the ruthless Hela (Blanchett)…

I haven’t watched any Thor Movie’s since Hemsworth’s first because Thor generally isn’t my favourite Marvel superhero. However, this undeniably cool new  trailer may just have pulled me right back in. There’s also another reason… my favourite acting queen! Cate Blanchett, of course.

Thor  – Ragnarok Release Dates: October 27th, 2017 (UK) November 3rd, 2017 (US)…

Jamie Alexander and Tessa Thompson also star.
