I’m mainly intrigued because of how this reminds me of Inception (2010). I’d also certainly have been more excited if Fukunaga was for sure the writer / director but according to IMDb he simply executive produced the series.
Maniac also stars Sonoya Mizuno, Sejal Shah, Sally field and Billy Magnussen.

Such seemingly intelligent series and such unimaginative title. I do hope “Maniac” stands for something more profound. It is also funny to say that something reminds one of “Inception”. I see in this series the work of Satoshi Kon in the nutshell. It is he and not Nolan who is the ultimate authority on the fusion between reality and fantasy.
‘Seemingly’ is correct and I agree, the title also ‘seems’ somewhat unimaginative’ but who knows, we may both be surprised.
I guess I didn’t specify precisely what it is about this trailer that brought Inception to mind. Nevertheless, to my mind Inception arrived. 🤓
I also can see now that this series is a remake of the Norwegian series of 2014 titled “Maniac” and it is a dark comedy. I didn’t even get any comedy vibe from this trailer – should be interesting.
I agree with you about the absence of a ‘comedy vibe’. Comedy or not, I hope it’s worth it. However that chances it will be good are improved by the fact this is a Netflix series not a Netflix film. 🤞☺️🤞
