Kate Winslet, Andrea Riseborough, Martha Plimpton and Matthias Schoenaerts’s latest drama The Regime has a new trailer and it has grown on me since its release.
Set in an invented Middle European autocracy and created by Will Tracy, we get to see the happenings within the walls of the palace, while an authoritarian regime unravels.
Thank goodness it seems that Winslet will appear in all the episodes of The Regime. I initially thought she’d appear in just one episode because that’s what it showed on IMDb on April 12th, 2023. It turns out they just hadn’t fully updated that key information yet.
I’m certainly excited to hear Winslet deliver more lines in that very specific accent. There’s also the seemingly inevitable scheming that’s afoot to unseat the chancellor. Bring on the dialogue-rich dramatics. I’m ready.

I hadn’t even thought of Germany until you mentioned it. I’m going to buy into the idea that it’s largely imagined until there is more concrete evidence otherwise. It should hopefully be quite fun.
