Read my spoiler-free movie review of The Fall Guy (2024).
In new action/comedy/drama The Fall Guy, Colt Seavers (Ryan Gosling) is a retired stuntman who gets drafted back into stuntwork after the star of a big-budget studio movie goes missing.
A key complication is that the director of the mega-budget film is his ex-girlfriend Jodi Moreno (Emily Blunt), with whom he has unfinished business.
The films that both Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt are in are usually good. And, I’m quite sure that The Fall Guy will be quite entertaining.
However, I think it’s taken me a while to post about this trailer because I wasn’t sure about the casting of Blunt and Gosling as a couple. I just don’t see it so easily for some reason. Maybe my slight aversion has more to do with the main song in this trailer. Sorry, Jon Bon Jovi fans!
Winston Duke, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Hannah Waddingham are no doubt great additions to the cast. May the end result be as fun as one hopes, even though the plot seems quite far from meaty.
Are you excited to see The Fall Guy?
Directed by David Leitch; Teresa Palmer, Stephanie Hsu and Matuse also star.
The Fall Guy Release Dates: May 3rd, 2024 (US & UK)…
Happy Film Loving,

This sounds like a movie I’d love!
I’m glad. It does look quite fun.
I’m so there for this one. Looks fabulous. Ryan without his irresistable smirk is even more irresistable, if that is even possible. Blunt is always good.
Agreed! I think there’s no such thing as Gosling minus smirk. It’s just the way his face sits. ‘Resting smirk face’, if you will.
LOL!
Saw this trailer a bit earlier and automatically put it on the see-at-the-theatres list. Great cast and potential storyline greatness as well. Can’t wait for this one to open.
I must admit that I do enjoy Gosling when he does the so-called ‘Jason Bourne ‘S***’, as per The Gray Man (2022). As such, I’ll hold onto that to maintain a fair amount of excitement.
I haven’t seen The Lost City yet, but that’s what this is reminding me of, I think it does look silly fun and Emily Blunt and Ryan Gosling are always watchable!
Now that you’ve said it, I see The Lost City connection. I do generally enjoy some silliness. As such, I’m sure that by the time I see this, It would be clear that I’d been worried for nothing.
Don’t know why but I’m excited for this. Though I’m not too big a fan, it’s interesting to see David Leitch’s progression as director—especially now that he’s set to helm a Jurassic Park sequel. Also, I’m ready for an Aaron Taylor-Johnson comeback!
I understand the David Leitch angle.
Even though I didn’t quite love Bullet Train (2022); Deadpool 2, John Wick and Atomic Blonde were fun.
And now that I’ve been reminded of his filmography, I feel a tad more confident. Thank you. 🤓
This was definitely a fantastic film. I thought it was fantastic tribute to the lives of stunt performers. Gosling was amazing in the leading role. Here’s why I loved it:
