Read my spoiler-free movie review of Mufasa The Lion King (2024).
Another Lion King movie is coming, and this time the focus is on Mufasa, Simba’s father, and his relationship with his ‘brother,’ Scar.
Directed by Barry Jenkins; Mufasa – The Lion King stars Aaron Pierre, Seth Rogen, Mads Mikkelsen and Kelvin Harrison Jr.
I couldn’t get past the fifteen-minute mark with The Lion King (2019). As such, I’m not sure I” end up watching this one.
The good news is that this time we do have a new story. Nevertheless, at least one of my key issues with the 2019 live-action Lion King movie applies to this one too. Add to that some of the accents in this trailer ‘sounding strange,’ clearly, only time will tell.
Maybe I’ll end up giving this instalment the 15 minutes I afforded its predecessor, just to see what happens.
Does Mufasa – The Lion King appeal to you?
Billy Eichner, John Kani, Mads Mikkelsen, Thandiwe Newton, Blue Ivy Carter, Keith David, Donald Glover, Anika Noni Rose, Lennie James, Beyoncé, Tiffany Boone, Folake Olowofoyeku and Abdul Salis also star
Mufasa – The Lion King Release Dates: December 20th (US & UK)…
Happy Film Loving,

The live-action remake of The Lion KIng was terrible for me. They basically remade the cartoon in CGI but with no emotion in the face of the lions and with some raw background (Africa is full of magnificent places, why it is so ugly in the movie?). And I don’t have faith in this prequel.
I can relate to not loving it either. But, enough people loved it enough they have this new movie, and I’m sure, plenty more.
I think many of us will have to rewatch the 1994 original instead.
A fantastic plan, if I’ve ever heard one. 🥂
Oh heck, why not! ☺
I hope you enjoy it. 🦁🦁
This is one my granddaughter might like. Not sure how I feel about the CGI animals. Haven’t seen any Lion King movies. Ironically, I think the female lions rule the pride and do the hunting. Maybe one day they’ll make The Lion Queen movie?
You’re absolutely right about the females. The original ( 2D 1994 animated film) is a good film that all, including children, can enjoy.
I can’t wait to see it in Cinema. I’m a Disney fan
Not too long to wait now. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. 🥂
