Squid Game - Season 2, Gong Yoo, Netflix

SQUID GAME – SEASON 2 (2024): New Trailer Starring Gong Yoo, Lee Jung-jae, Park Hae-soo, Nandito Hidayattullah Putra…

Squid Game Season 1, that giant Netflix hit of 2021, created/directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk is a show that still remains on my ‘probably will never watch’ list. Mainly because of the dark themes which involve fighting to the death for a 4.6 billion cash prize.

I did, however, enjoy Squid Game The Challenge (2023), a tamer, less bloody TV game show based on the original series, and I’ll definitely tune in to the new season when it’s released, at some point.

The good news for fans of the original 2021 show is that December 26th 2024 marks the start of Squid Game Season 2. Sadly for me, I’m sure, I still probably won’t be watching any of it, especially since I haven’t seen the first season. Nevertheless, I have been enjoying the teaser trailers that were recently released.

The Announcement Trailer

Well done‘ to the marketing creatives who smartly tied the summer’s Olympic Games with this memorable announcement release.

The Invitation Trailer

I had no idea that the main actor in this trailer, (Gong Yoo) from one of my favourite South Korean films, Train to Busan (2016) is involved with Squid Game. My chances of tuning in may have increased that little bit. Maybe.

I’m excited for all of you Squid Game super fans. Enjoy your day late Christmas gift from Netflix.

Squid Game Season 2 Release Dates: December 26th, 2024, Netflix…

Happy Film Loving,

  1. I rewatched Train to Busan at the weekend. I still love it. And Gong Yoo still looks the same age.

  2. Gia, you talked me into watching the netflix series and I enjoyed it. Thanks! I’ll be watching season 2, as it’s mindless but entertaining.

    1. Great, and you’re super welcome! 🤓 For some reason, I thought it was the less gruesome TV game show based on Squid Game that I convinced you to watch—not the original Squid Game (the truly gruesome series). Either way, I hope season 2 is great. Both shows will have a season 2.

      1. Oh wow I think it is the less gruesome tv series you did convince me to watch. I thought the violent one was a movie. I will be watching the less gruesome one 🙂

      2. I understand the confusion. Often, I think a Netflix series is a movie until I sit down to see it and soon enough, the Netflix ‘Next Episode’ button shows up on the bottom right. It happened with their hit new series Nobody Wants This. 🤓

I can’t wait for the less gruesome Squid Game to come back. It was really fun. 🥂
