New Josh Margolin-written/directed action/comedy Thelma is a film I enjoyed for more reasons than the fact that June Squibb (Thelma) is a perfectly adorable ninety-three-year-old grandmother.
In addition to living her life while super cute, Squibb’s Thelma has decided to reclaim the ten thousand dollars that a pair of scammers duped her into handing over. And so begins a well-mapped and paced adventure with good humour, plus unexpected characters.
The first thing I liked about Thelma, right away, in addition to her special charm, was her cosy abode, which I briefly fantasised about moving into.
The second is the generally healthy family dynamic between Thelma, her daughter (Parker Posey), son-in-law (Clark Gregg) and grandson (Fred Hechinger). I adored the latter relationship the most. In fact, I don’t know the last time I saw an equally heartwarming grandma and adult grandson relationship.
Watch Thelma for a well-executed story about a determined, badass grandmother’s adventure. The very least it will do is put a smile on your face, I’m certain of it.
Happy Film Loving,

I’ve heard all good things about this movie, I didn’t realize Parker Posey was in it, looking forward to watching!
I love Parker Posey, too. She has that special something. I hope you enjoy it. I’m almost certain you will. 🤓🥂
