Wes Anderson’s latest movie, The Phoenician Scheme is a crime/drama/comedy about a family and a family business.
Scarlett Johansson, Bryan Cranston, Tom Hanks, Benedict Cumberbatch and Benicio Del Toro are among the key cast.
I love the cast and I’m certainly not averse to Anderson’s visually pleasing and highly stylised aesthetic.
May the story be just as pleasing.
Richard Ayoade, Rupert Friend, Michael Cera, Jeffrey Wright, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Hope Davis, Mathieu Amalric, Antonia Desplat, Max Mauff, Milo James, Mia Threapleton, Jason Watkins and Riz Ahmed also star.
The Phoenician Scheme Release Dates: May 30th, 2025
Happy film Loving,

Can’t wait to see it! I really like him as director and his movies were always a pleasure!
Truth! 🤓🥂
The cast really is great. I wonder which turn the family business dramatics will take.
All the turns, perhaps. 🤓
Sure to be strange and wonderful with great casting!
Exactly right. Strange and wonderful equals magic. 😊
looking forward to it!
Me too. I’m always down for a good celebration of colour. 😊
This is the first hearing that Wes Anderson has a new movie coming out. Yippee! I’ve never missed one and don’t plan on starting. He jam-packs his movies with only the best, both his regulars and newbies. Benicio is exciting to see as key cast. Criminally underrated actor. This guy should be in everything 🙂
Thank goodness for the directors who are known for consistently delivering quality. 🙏😊🙏
When it comes to Del Toro, I think he’s very highly rated, and deservedly so. He’s just criminally underused. Or, maybe he has other interests outside film that he dedicates himself to.
Good thoughts on the film and the cast, Gia.
Thanks, Lisa.
You’re very welcome.
