Wake Up Dead Man - A Knives Out Mystery (2025), Daniel Craig, Netflix

WAKE UP DEAD MAN – A KNIVES OUT STORY (2025): The Things I Liked…

Writer/director, Rian Johnson’s Wake Up Dead Man – A Knives Out Story does what the Knives Out franchise does best, deliver fun, well-executed murder mysteries that have you looking forward to the next instalment.

Starring Daniel Craig as detective Benoit Blanc, this time the scene of the murder is a small-town church with a dark history, arguably an immediately intriguing setting.

Also starring Kerry Washington, Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin and Mila Kunis, in true Knives Out style, the well-titled Wake Up Dead Man has several twists and turns. You won’t see most of them coming, though you may guess a couple.

If you enjoyed Knives Out (2019) and Glass Onion – A Knives Out Story (2023), then don’t hesitate to watch Wake Up Dead Man. The quality and fun are still there. Plus, O’Connor and Brolin are especially great.

Lastly, I have a feeling you won’t want to miss out on that super delicious punch at the beginning.

Happy Film Loving,

G

  1. It’s true, the consistent quality is impressive. Josh O’Connor is great in this.

  2. I really appreciated it and in general I liked that all the movies were very different and still able to Talk about interesting stuff and I liked how they talked about religion and forgivness here. I still prefer the first one but this third chapter is for sure an amazing work.
