Directed by James Watkins, Clayface is a new sci-fi/horror/thriller about an actor who becomes a revenge-filled being after his identity and humanity are stripped.
The actor in question, Matt Hagen, is played by Tom Rhys Harries. Additional key cast includes Max Minghella, Naomi Ackie and Eddie Marsan.
What cruelty is this?
As you likely already know, the chances of me watching this aren’t great, but the special effects and make-up, as horrifying as they are, are so damn creative, no? Also, the premise is strong, for what is an actor without their face after all? Not nothing of course, but it’s certainly very far from an ideal situation.
The very least I will do is check out the official non-teaser trailer.
Are you as intrigued by this as I am? Proabbly more so if you really like horror.
David Dencik, Francesca Corney, Ruby Sear, Wil Coban, Joshua James, Jake Curran, Derek Siow and Lorraine Tai also star.
Clayface Release Dates: September 11th, 2026 (UK); October 23rd, 2026 (US)…

I don’t know if you caught that Clayface is a DC movie. Clayface is a lesser known Batman villain, and this is a solo movie set in the DC Universe (the same one as Superman and Supergirl). As a superhero fan, I have to say I see no reason why this movie needs to exist. It makes no sense to give a Batman villain their own film before Batman is properly introduced. As a horror fan, it looks a lot better than I expected and definitely creepy.
I’m so curious about this project. The atmosphere looks amazing and it could be a very awesome idea. Clayface is perfect for a horror movie.
I’m not familiar with Clayface, but I assumed it was an anti-superhero movie because of DC. Definitely an interesting look and premise.
Wow, that’s whacked. Curious, but not sure I would watch it?
