A new teaser trailer for Ryan Coogler’s new drama/horror/thriller starring Michael B. Jordan, Jack O’Connell, Hailee Steinfeld and Wunmi Mosaku is here.

There’s a longer trailer than this one released today. It reveals more than you’ll likely want to see. As such, I recommend sticking with this second teaser. That is unless you don’t mind early revelations. In which case, here you go.

As nightmare-inducing as this surely will be, I’ve decided that unless someone who knows me super well advises that I don’t watch this, I will. Until such a time, a bright morning on or soon after April 18th, 2025, is when my date with Coogler’s scares and thrills is happening. Good luck to me and all who are scared but too intrigued. For everyone else, enjoy!

Li Jun Li, Jayme Lawson, Omar Benson Miller, Deneen Tyler, Christian Robinson, Theodus Crane, Gralen Bryant Banks, Delroy Lindo, Lola Kirke, Fabiola Reno, Yao, Russell C. Gibbs, Suzette Lange, Amanda Trumbull, and Ja’Quan Monroe-Henderson also star.

Sinners Release Dates: April 18th, 2025 (US & UK)…

Steven Soderbergh’s latest movie is Presence. A drama/horror/thriller starring Lucy Liu, Chris Sullivan, plus Julia Fox, and about a family convinced they’re not alone in their new suburban home.

Trailer 2

I’m curious about what has been described as ‘Soderbergh’s best combination of form and function‘. Nevertheless, I haven’t forgotten that my specific sensibilities mean I probably shouldn’t watch it. Particularly if I don’t want to start looking at inanimate objects suspiciously for no apparent reason,

Will you be acquainting yourself with the Presence upon release? Something tells me that you too are curious, yes?

Lucas Papaelias, Callina Liang, Eddy Maday, Natalie Woolams-Torres, Jared Wiseman, Daniel Danielson, Benny Elledge and West Mulholland also star.

Presence Release Dates: January 24th, 2025 (US & UK)…

DEATH OF A UNICORN (2025): New Trailer Starring Paul Rudd, Jenna Ortega, Will Poulter, Téa Leoni…

Read my spoiler-free movie review of Death of a Unicorn (2025).

From writer/director Alex Scharfman, Death of a Unicorn is a new comedy/horror film starring Paul Rudd, Jenna Ortega, Will Poulter and Téa Leoni.

The madness begins when father/daughter pair, Riley and Elliot, while en route to a billionaire’s wilderness retreat, accidentally hit a unicorn with their car and take it with them.

The wonderful cast, unexpected premise, and promising dialogue are why I’m in. Especially since it feels like the kind of silly I’m into. Well, generally, ideally, minus the horror.

I say, bring on the giggles and rich-person shenanigans.

Are you also in the mood for such a thing?

Sunita Mani, Richard E. Grant, Anthony Carrigan, Nick Wittman, Christine Grace Szarko, Jessica Hynes, Steve Park and Narantsogt Tsogtsaikhan also star.

That hit 2002 zombie horror movie 28 Days Later, which starred Cillian Murphy, Brandon Gleeson and Naomie Harris, finally has a great-looking follow-up film called 28 Years Later.

Directed once again by Danny Boyle and co-written by Boyle and Alex Garland of Ex Machina (2015), as the title suggests, the movie appears to be set 28 years after the events of the first film, and it’s Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ralph Fiennes, Jodie Comer and Cillian Murphy who star.

I have not yet watched 28 Days Later. However, based on this trailer being so wonderful that I didn’t know what to do with myself, I’ve decided to be brave and watch it before 28 Years Later is released.

Isn’t the poem that plays over this trailer just perfectly chosen, from the rhythm to the tone of the reader’s voice and everything in between?

Ralph Fiennes, Jack O’Connell, Erin Kellyman, Edvin Ryding, Edvin Ryding, Chi Lewis-Parry, Alfie Williams and Nathan Hall also star.

28 Years Later Release Dates: June 20th, 2025 (US & UK)…

THE LITTLE MERMAID (2023): New Trailer Starring Mike Markoff, Lydia Helen, Jeff Denton…

An archaeologist named Dr. Eric Prince is at the centre of a new Leigh Scott-directed horror re-telling of The Little Mermaid story. While working on a small Caribbean island, he encounters the beautiful Aurora Bey.

Lydia Helen, Jeff Denton and Mike Markoff are among the key cast.

The smile-inducing naming of the doctor aside, I would love to see a high-quality, darker version of Disney’s/Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Mermaid story, even if it has to be a horror movie.

Still, something tells me this new version is unlikely to meet all my needs. Yet, I remain curious, partly because I’m drawn in by the sinister quality in Bey’s facial expressions.

What are your thoughts about the new The Little Mermaid movie?

Sean-Michael Argo, Winston Crooke, Wayne Gordon, Manon Laurent, Leigh Scott, Samuel Selman and Dwayne Strawn also star.

The Little Mermaid Release Dates: December 17th, 2024 (US)…
