During the German air raid bombings of Belfast in 1941, young Tom and his misfit friends fought to save ‘Buster’ a baby elephant at Belfast Zoo.
Written/directed by Colin McIvor, Zoo is based on a true story and stars Art Parkinson, Toby Jones, Penelope Wilton and Ian McElhinney.
This one is for fans of big elephants (my favourite grey creatures). I also want to know which of the elephants in this movie are CGI, if not all.

The Ivory Game is a new Netflix documentary about the work of wildlife activists on a mission to end the illegal trading of ivory in Africa.
I don’t want to imagine a world without elephants and so I must watch, as upset as I’m sure to be whilst doing so. Who know’s what doing so may inspire.

For anyone who’s seen far too many animals looking sad and defeated whilst caged and in captivity, todays trailer should be of interest.
Unlocking The Cage is a new documentary about the journey of a group of lawyers working to establish legal personhood for apes, elephants and cetaceans.
Being kept inside cages as small as the one in this trailer is hard to think about let alone watch. I hope this documentary will be adequately thorough and answer all the questions one can reasonably expect.
I’m looking forward to the courtroom dramatics. Maybe we’ll all be surprised.
