THE GRAY MAN (2022): The Things I liked…

Thrills and action were promised. And thrilling action is precisely what Chris Evans, Ana de Armas and Ryan Gosling’s latest, The Gray Man delivered.

A key highlight of the Anthony and Joe Russo-directed action/thriller is all the action sequences that made it impossible for me to look away for at least two-thirds of the movie. Even more so during the scenes set in Prague.

Evans as the bad guy in a story about the CIA’s most skilled operative’s uncovering of dark agency secrets is a fun surprise. I rather enjoyed his well-dressed turn as a psychopath. Gosling has always been fun to watch in action roles, and The Gray Man is no different.

And to think that my Friday wasn’t quite going to plan today. It turns out that all it took was to watch the first ten minutes of The Gray Man to have me cheering and ‘woohooing’ at the thrilling action, smile-inducing dialogue, rich visuals and heart-thumping musical score.

Undeniably, perfect is not the word to describe The Gray Man. However, it is a perfectly entertaining escape that isn’t so easy to turn away from, especially during the highly engaging action scenes.

If you’re a fan of the cast and directors, I implore you to alter your mood and take in all the highlights mentioned above, including the fun camera work.

BAD SANTA 2 (2016): New Trailer From Billy Bob Thornton, Tony Cox & Kathy Bates

Billy Bob Thornton, Kathy Bates and Tony Cox are back for Bad Santa 2, a sequel to the 2003 original that featured a whiskey swilling conman and his angry little sidekick…

I haven’t watched the first Bad Santa (2003) because, to put it simply the trailer didn’t convince me.

I have a general fear that this sequel will also be disappointing partly because sequels usually are. However I’ve decided to commit to watching the original; which will hopefully mean that I can look forward to well executed,  profanity-filled lines from the very worst,  possible Santa Claus, ever.

Bad Santa 2 Release Dates: November 23rd, 2016 (US); November 23rd, 2016 (UK)…

ENTOURAGE (2015): More Of The Things You Loved

Entourage (2015), Jeremy Piven
Entourage (2015), Jeremy Piven

Admittedly the latter seasons of hit HBO TV series Entourage weren’t the best, but who can resist another chance to see more of Ari Gold’s well crafted, high energy tirades on the big screen?

Brilliantly played by Jeremy Piven, Ari Gold was without a doubt the best thing about the Entourage series and you’ll be glad to know that he’s generously featured in the movie.  Adrian Grenier, Jerry Ferrara, Kevin Connolly and Kevin Dillon also return in their popular roles.

Picking up where the series ended, the great news is that everything that kept you tuned in to the show is present in this movie. Everything including the well chosen soundtrack, fantasy depiction of the male movie star lifestyle, Johnny Drama’s ridiculousness and the fun bromance and banter between the lead characters.

You’ll also like the addition of Emily Ratajkowski, champion UFC fighter Ronda Rousey, Mark Wahlberg, Haley Joel Osment and Billy Bob Thornton. I was particularly glad to see Osment do well in a role post the Sixth Sense (1999)

The truth is, Writer / Director Doug Ellin has done right by the series fans. So if you are one, waste no more time and get to watching if you haven’t already.

Happy Entourage 🙂

OUR BRAND IS CRISIS (2015): Sandra Bullock In New Political Comedy/ Drama

Our Brand Is Crisis (2015), Sandra Bullock, Anthony Mackie
Our Brand Is Crisis (2015), Sandra Bullock, Anthony Mackie

The trailer for Sandra Bullock’s new movie, Our Brand Is Crisis just landed…

David Gordon Green, a man I know of because he directed one of my favourite movies, Pineapple Express (2008) is in charge.

Really looking forward to this, mainly because of Bullock but also Zoe Kazan, an actress/ writer I love because she’s the reason for the existence of the movie Ruby Sparks (2012).

Anthony Mackie and Billy Bob Thornton also star.

Release Date (s): October 30th 2015 (US)

Happy Our Brand Is Crisis 🙂
