Michael Shannon, Ron Perlman, Thomas Lennon and Christina Hendricks are the stars of Pottersville; a Seth Henrikson directed comedy about a beloved local businessman who gets mistaken for the legendary Bigfoot, after which an international Bigfoot media spectacle follows. Along with a windfall of tourism dollars for his simple American town that’s hit by hard times.
I’m not sure what to make of this one. Seems silly but I’m hoping it’s silly in a good way because I’m looking forward to some amusement and the generally christmassy vibe this trailer seems to promise.
Also, I can’t help but think this can’t be that bad since Michael Shannon’s in it, right?

My fingers are crossed that Fist Fight won’t be anything like Sisters (2015) or The Night Before (2015); two movies that featured grownups behaving in ways that were only believable and entertaining when teenagers do it. I couldn’t even make it to the halfway point with either movie.
My wish for the Richie Keen directed Fist Fight is that it’s funnier and far more believable than the aforementioned films. The above rather well edited trailer puts a smile on my face whilst forcing me to reminisce about my fun high school years. So that’s a good start.

I haven’t watched the first Bad Santa (2003) because, to put it simply the trailer didn’t convince me.
I have a general fear that this sequel will also be disappointing partly because sequels usually are. However I’ve decided to commit to watching the original; which will hopefully mean that I can look forward to well executed, profanity-filled lines from the very worst, possible Santa Claus, ever.

I haven’t watched Refn’s previous movie Only God Forgives (2013) but it’s clear to me that the man loves neon. This time round neon is not just part of the cinematography / mis en scene, but it’s in the movie’s title.
I’ll be watching because drive was good, as is Fanning. I just need to get brave first. You know, for the horror.
