TOGETHER (2025): New Trailer From Alison Brie, Dave Franco, Damon Herriman…

From writer/director Michael Shanks, Together is a new body horror/sci-fi film starring Dave Franco and Alison Brie.

Brie and Franco play a couple whose relationship, existence, and physical form are altered after their move to the countryside triggers a supernatural incident.

I like this clever tease of a trailer, especially the way it has me spooked yet very curious. May the answers to all our questions be delivered very well indeed.

It sure does look as though we’re in the era of body horror, don’t we? Especially after The Substance (2024) and the upcoming The Ugly Step Sister (2025). The latter is likely too horrific and real for me to watch. We’ll see.

Damon Herriman, Mia Morrissey, Jack Kenny, Karl Richmond, Charlie Lees, MJ Dorning, Sunny S. Walia, Tom Considine, Rob Brown and Melanie Beddie also star.

Together Release Dates: July 30th, 2025 (US)…

JUDY & PUNCH (2019): New Trailer Starring Mia Wasikowska, Damon Herriman, Benedict Hardie…

New comedy/crime/drama Judy & Punch is the latest from Mia Wasikowska, Damon Herriman and Benedict Hardie.

Written/directed by Mirrah Foulkes, and set in a town called Seaside, puppeteers Judy and Punch are trying to resurrect their marionette show. The show is a hit due to Judy’s superior puppeteering, but Punch’s driving ambition and love of whisky lead to an inevitable tragedy that Judy must avenge.

A long time ago, I vaguely recall hearing more than once that the story behind Punch and Judy, the famous traditional 16th century puppet show, featuring Mr. Punch and his wife Judy is actually darker than people realise. I guess it’s time to find out precisely why.

I’m looking forward to the humour among the darkness, and of course, Judy’s sweet, sweet vengeance.

Eddie Baroo, Tom Budge, Virginia Gay, Amy Christian, Kiruna Stamell, Don Bridges, Michael M. Foster and Daisy Axon also star.

Judy & Punch Release Dates: November 22nd, 2019 (UK)

THE LITTLE DEATH (2014): A Most Pleasant Surprise

The Little Death (2014), Josh Lawson, Bojana Novakovic
The Little Death (2014), Josh Lawson, Bojana Novakovic

Josh Lawson is the writer/director of one of the funniest films I’ve seen recently.

Starring Lawson himself, Bojana Novakovic, Ben Lawson, Kate Mulvany, T.J. Power and Kate Box, The Little Death is a modern sex comedy based on the lives of five suburban couples living in Sydney, Australia.

Due to some clever storytelling and a well-chosen soundtrack, by the time the credits start rolling for The Little Death, you will find yourself not quite ready for the stories of each of the couples featured in the movie to come to an end.

Watch it because it’s good; to learn a few things about the sexual peculiarities of the human and because you’re in the mood to laugh. You’ll very likely also be inspired to work harder on becoming a more effective communicator in your relationships. See for yourself.

Here’s my favourite song on the soundtrack. Sleeping at last-‘Light’
