The full trailer for T2 – Trainspotting 2, the sequel to the 1999 cult classic Trainspotting is here; with Ewan McGregor, Jonny Lee Miller, Robert Carlyle, Ewan Bremner and more reprising their original roles.
Funny, fast, scary, but not in the horror movie sense (thank goodness), and dramatic are words that fit.
I also just love that ‘man on chair off the roof’ moment at 1:03. I’d love to know how that was shot. I imagine with plenty of very soft padding at the end of quite a short drop. Come on January!
T2 – Trainspotting 2 (2017), Ewen Bremner, Ewan McGregor, Jonny Lee Miller, Robert Carlyle
The teaser trailer for the sequel to Trainspotting (1996) is here. Directed by Danny Boyle and starring Ewan McGregor, Robert Carlyle, Jonny Lee Miller and Ewen Bremner, this new teaser, I can promise, is not as pointless as the previous one. For there is something to get the imagination going.
In all honesty, I can barely remember what happens in the first film. Something to do with having actually never seen it, perhaps. Or I may have forgotten watching it because 1996 was decades ago.
I’m looking forward to finding out about all the hype before the second instalment gets here. Something tells me that, regardless of the title, the movie probably has very little to do with actual train spotting. I could be wrong, of course, since I’m not even sure that I’ve seen the first film.
American Pastoral (2016), Ewan McGregor, Jennifer Connelly
Based on the novel by Philip Roth; Ewan McGregor’s new movie, American Pastoral is set in postwar America and centres around a man whose previously perfect seeming life is abruptly changed when his daughter’s new political affiliations come to light.
Also starring Jennifer Connelly, Uzo Aduba and Dakota Fanning, I know I’m excited because I’m already imagining some of the possible dramatic exchanges likely to take place.
This is also Ewan McGregor’s directorial debut, therefore, it’s reason enough for this movie fan to tune in. Especially since, even though I’m not loving this particular remix of Tears For Fears’ popular song ‘Mad World,’ the trailer isn’t bad.
Starring Emma Watson, Luke Evans, Ewan McGregor and Dan Stevens, 2017 is the year for another live-action movie version of a classic Disney fairytale. This time it’s Beauty & The Beast.
I already love the music and visuals in this beautiful trailer tease. I also wouldn’t mind staying in that palace for a day or many. Preferably, many days.
Today’s trailer stars Damian Lewis, Stellan Skarsgård, Ewan McGregor and Naomie Harris. All are reasonably reliable names when it comes to how good a film is likely to be.
Quite unexpectedly though, after watching this preview, the question that’s lingering in my mind is why I’m not currently filled with complete confidence about the expected quality of the finished product. The answer is in a combination of things. There’s the general look and feel which isn’t particularly cinematic.
I’d hoped for more in terms of music choice, sound, dialogue – its delivery and the trailer’s general execution. Especially in terms of how gripped I am by what I’m seeing. Even more so considering the fact that Our Kind of Traitor is a thriller based on a best selling book by the author of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011).
Our Kind Of Traitor (2016), Naomie Harris, Ewan McGregor
I’d love to be wrong because I want to believe the trailer editor has simply made some – in my opinion, questionable choices, which would then mean the finished product and perhaps a later version of the trailer will be better. I’d much rather that be true than the idea that this movie won’t be great. I truly would like to be wrong. Except, I wasn’t wrong about Burnt (2015).
