Sollers Point centres around Keith, a small-time drug dealer under house arrest in a community scarred by unemployment, neglect and deeply entrenched segregation. Keith must push back against his surrounding limitations to try and find a way out of his own internal prison.

Directed by Matthew Porterfield; McCaul Lombardi, Jim Belushi, Zazie Beetz, Tom Guiry and Imani Hakim star.

After watching this trailer, I’m already desperate for Keith to succeed and not become a number in the recidivism statistic. With a stable support system like he seems to have, my fingers are firmly crossed.

Assuming that Keith does succeed, what will happen with the people he’s indebted to, the ones who made sure he made it out of prison alive? I will watch for answers.

Woody Allen’s latest film, Wonder Wheel, stars Kate Winslet, Jim Belushi, Justin Timberlake and Juno Temple.

Set on Coney Island in the 1950s, Timberlake plays a lifeguard who tells the story of a middle-aged carousel operator and his wife.

Winslet is the main reason I’ll be watching. I’m also curious about whether Wonder Wheel has what it takes to challenge the place of my favourite Woody Allen Movie, Blue Jasmine (2013). I’m thinking no. But we’ll see.

The Whole Truth is the latest movie directed by Courtney Hunt and stars Keanu Reeves, Rene Zellweger and Gugu Mbatha-Raw.

Essentially a courtroom drama, the story centres around the truth that’s yet to be revealed, in a story where a son is standing trial for the murder of his father. But should he be? That is the one of the questions.

I’m hoping that the payoff at the end is worth it. I say this because the cast is great, but is the overall story execution worthy of the talent? I wish I felt more confident after watching this trailer. Here’s to hoping I get to eat my words.
