THE ANGRY BIRDS MOVIE (2016): An Easter Message From the Hatchlings

The Angry Birds Movie (2016), Cute Hatchling

I know that the story of The Angry Birds Movie is generally about Red, ‘the one with the eyebrows’, but I’m obsessed with the cuteness of the baby birds, a.k.a the Hatchlings.

My wish is that these adorable and colourful little cuties feature as prominently as possible in the finished movie.

They may not quite be on the same level of cuteness as the Minions. However, seeing them is certainly very seriously smile-inducing. Especially the purple chocaholic.

The Angry Birds Movie is out on:  May 13th, 2016 (UK), May 20th, (US)…

A new The Angry Birds Movie trailer has landed and I definitely like it more than the teaser.

The use of Michael Jackson’s Bad seems to fit a little better now, perhaps. I can’t wait to find out if I’ll like this movie more than The Secret Life of Pets, which is due to be released two months later.

KEANU (2016): New Trailer From Keegan-Michael Key, Jordan Peele, Will Forte…

Starring a very cute cat called Keanu, Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele of Comedy Central’s hit series Key & Peele have a brand new comedy movie – and it looks good.

Of course, Key and Peele will tell some good jokes, and that’s exciting, but really, I’m actually most jazzed about kitty Keanu’s badass stunts.

Will Forte, Nia Long, Method Man and Luiz Guzman also star.

Release Date (s): April 29th, 2016 (US)…

Fun is the word for how this looks, and I’m excited to learn more about the history behind how storks came to be known for delivering babies.

I’m also looking forward to meeting the stork I imagine that Samberg is voicing.

TOMORROWLAND (2015): There Is Something I Liked…

Tomorrowland (2015), Britt Robertson, George Clooney, Raffey Cassidy
Tomorrowland (2015), Britt Robertson, George Clooney, Raffey Cassidy

When I saw the trailer for Academy Award winning director, Brad Bird’s latest sci-fi, Tomorrowland, I wasn’t particularly wowed be it or hugely interested. That’s probably because it looked like a kids sci-fi, which it kind of is. Still, I was a little curious, especially with George Clooney as one of the stars.

The future of humanity, optimism and time travel are key themes in Tomorrowland. Its main character is an optimistic teenage science enthusiast played by Britt Robertson. Unfortunately, for reasons I’m not quite certain of, I found myself not really able to connect with Robertson’s protagonist. Not to say that the character’s positive outlook and general optimism didn’t sit well with me, or that it isn’t correct. It’s likely that the general story just didn’t provide the necessary elements required. Nor did it  provide them in the right way (if at all) in order for a connection to happen. It could also be that I’m simply not the target market.

Surprisingly, perhaps,I do have a favourite thing about Tomorrowland and that is the meaning behind the story about ‘feeding the wolf’. Beyond that, Bird’s film just feels like a long-winded and not particularly well structured way of saying one thing about the importance of optimism and creativity, especially as it pertains to the future of our planet and everything in it.

Watch Tomorrowland if you absolutely must. However, if you’re just not that curious, the following is a SPOILER/quote of  the feeding the wolf story that I mentioned:

‘There are two wolves and they’re always fighting. One is darkness and despair. The other is light and hope. Which wolf wins…? Whichever one you feed’

Hugh Laurie, Raffey Cassidy, Keegan-Michael Key and Kathryn Hahn also star.
