CRAZY STUPID LOVE (2011): Steve Carell & Ryan Gosling comedy

Steve Carrel, Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone and Julianne Moore are the stars of this drama/ romance / comedy. A story about a man whose world is altered after what should have been a romantic dinner date with his wife turns into something else.

Directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, I tuned in because of Carell and Moore’s reputations and found myself pleasantly surprised. A big highlight is the scene with the valedictorian speech. That and Gosling’s character, Jacob’s fashion sense.

Watch it for a reminder that humour is tragedy plus time. You’ll go through some emotions but you will certainly laugh as well.

Along with The Notebook (2004) this movie is without a doubt responsible for a good number of Ryan Gosling crushes.

Happy Crazy, Stupid, Love 🙂

Summer isn’t over yet but if you didn’t already know, it’s time for the Christmas movie trailer. And Love The Coopers is the first one I’ve  seen for 2015.

Does it look refreshing different? No, but it does look like this Jessie Nelson directed seasonal film will provide precisely the mildly amusing, yet heartwarming entertainment one can enjoy after stuffing ones face on the Lord’s special day.

The cast list includes familiar names like Olivia Wilde, Diane Keaton, John Goodman, Amanda Seyfried, Marisa Tomei and Anthony Mackie.

Out November 2015 (U.S.) and December 2015 (U.K.)

Happy Love The Coopers 🙂

I love New York and I love film. When a promising new comedy is set in New York city, the joy is very real.

Trainwreck, the latest Judd Apatow directed comedy is my can’t ‘wait to see’ film of the moment.

Just the kind of fun I need.

Happy Trainwreck 🙂
