From writer/director Minhal Baig, Hala is a new drama about Hala Masood (Geraldine Viswanathan), a Muslim teenager in America who is coping with the unravelling of her family as she comes into her own.

Executive produced by Jada Pinkett Smith; additional key cast includes Jack Kilmer, Gabriel Luna and Purbi Joshi.

This one I’ll be seeing for reasons including I don’t remember having seen a story from this perspective before, and the fact that the trailer looks rather good only has me more intrigued.

Anna Chlumsky, Azad Khan, Anna Chlumsky, Taylor Marie Blim, Charin Alvarez, Sam Straley, Sonny Bhatt and Ahmed Lucan also star.
