THE FOREIGNER (2017): New Trailer From Jackie Chan, Pierce Brosnan…

Martin Campbell –  the director of Casino Royale (2006), a.k.a. my favourite James Bond movie of all time is the director of The Foreigner, the new Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan action/thriller set in London, England.

Chan’s character is a man whose daughter is killed by an Irish Republican Army (IRA) bomb. The police are not doing much to help him so he takes matters into his own hands.

This trailer could definitely have been shorter but I’m still excited because the film looks  good. I confess to having screamed ‘Jackie!‘ a couple of times in delighted surprise as the trailer played. I kind of feel as though I have even more reason than usual to be proud of Jackie Chan.

First of all, the man is 63 years old and seems to be incredibly convincing physically as an action star. Second, on my trip to L.A., I took one of those open top bus tours to Beverly Hills and I saw him outside his home. To me, that means that my… what some might describe as ‘extreme joy’ at seeing him in a very promising trailer is super justified because ‘we kind of met once’.

I definitely haven’t watched most of Chan’s movies but I’ll always be a fan because of Rush Hour 2 (2001) in particular. Without that movie, I may have never found out that contrary to what I used to believe, there is actually a way for me to enjoy karaoke after all.

Fingers crossed that the finished product proves worthy of all my enthusiasm.

The Foreigner Release Dates: October 13th, 2017 (US)…

SKIPTRACE (2016): New Trailer Starring Jackie Chan & Johnny Knoxville

Skiptrace (2016), Johnny Knoxville, Jackie Chan
Skiptrace (2016), Johnny Knoxville, Jackie Chan

Jackie Chan and Johnny Knoxville are the stars of new action comedy, Skiptrace (a.k.a. Jue Di Tao Wang).

Directed by Renny Harlin; Chan plays a detective from Hong Kong,  Knoxville is an American gambler. Together they must team up against a Chinese criminal. Sounds familiar?

The main reason I probably  want to watch this is because it’s reminiscent of the  Rush Hour trilogy. Surely that’s as  good a reason as any, no?

Also, Rush Hour 2 is after all my favourite Jackie Chan film. And may this new Harlin directed production please be worthy.

Lastly, it just occurred to me that Jonny Knoxville kind of looks like a young  Jack Nicholson. You see it, right? Yeah, you do!

Skiptrace Release Dates: September 2nd, 2016 (US); July 21st,  2016 (CH)…
