Scary Movie | The Movie My Life

Directed by Michael Tiddes, Scary Movie is a parody/spoof comedy of the most popular horror films of recent years, a follow-up to Scary Movie (2000), and its four sequels.

Written by Craig Wayans, Keenen Ivory Wayans, Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans and Rick Alvarez, the key cast includes Anna Faris, Regina Hall, Marlon Wayans and Sydney Park.

This is probably the kind of scary film I can look forward to, since it leads with humour rather than horror. At least that’s what I hope, especially since I don’t remember much about the original Scary Movie films.

Hopefully, as an infrequent watcher of horror, I’ll still appreciate many, if not all the jokes.

Dave Sheridan, Damon Wayans Jr., Chris Elliott, Jon Abrahams, Heidi Gardner, Cheri Oteri, Shawn Wayans, Anthony Anderson, Felissa Rose, Savannah Lee Nassif, Kim Wayans, Olivia Rose Keegan, and Cameron Scott Roberts also star.

Crimson Peak (2015), Tom Hiddleston, Mia Wasikowska

Crimson Peak might just be my first horror film in a very long time. Considering the stunning beauty of acclaimed director Guillermo Del Toro’s new trailer, it shouldn’t be too surprising.

The glorious cinematography and impressive talent are the reasons I have to watch this. Namely, Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska and Charlie Hunnam.

I think I can now consider myself someone who is back into horror movies, right? I’m certainly into this specific seductive gothic romance. I just need to decide how I’ll deal with potentially losing a week of sleep as a result, which is likely, if Crimson Peak has the same effect on me as watching The Omen (1976) at age 12. I guess we’ll find out.
