DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE (2024): New Trailer From Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Garner…

Read my spoiler-free movie review of Deadpool & Wolverine (2024).

Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman and Morena Baccarin are the stars of Deadpool and Wolverine; the third action/comedy/sci-fi instalment of the much loved Deadpool franchise.

Directed by Shawn Levy; Wade Wilson, a.k.a. Deadpool is the irresponsible hero, who’s due to change the history of the MCU with Wolverine.

Wow! I’m more excited than I thought I would be. Thank Heavens for all the actor-Ryans. It’s a Ryan-strong year, 2024, and I’m quite happy about it, actually.

As someone who doesn’t read comic books, I can’t wait for the surprise of how this Deadpool and Wolverine partnership is going to go. Deadpool may just be the only superhero movie franchise I’m not fatigued with. Let’s see how I’ll feel once ‘Marvel Jesus’ has done his thing.

How do you feel about this Deadpool/Wolverine pairing? I’m going to guess about as excited as a Reynolds and Jackman partnership, which is more than reasonably high, probably.

Additional key cast includes Matthew Macfadyen, Emma Corrin, Brianna Hildebrand, Shioli Kutsuna, Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, Tony McCarthy, Stefan Kapicic and Patrick Stewart.

Deadpool & Wolverine Release Dates: July 26th, 2024 (US & UK)…

Happy Film Loving,

  1. Having seen how much fun Ryan and Hugh have together, the chemistry is going to be through the roof with this film. I can’t wait for the next trailer. 🥳🎉

  2. This “meeting” has been anticipated and hyped for sometime by comic book and film fans alike, and count me among them. I think it is gonna be a wild, fun film…and I definitely liked the idea of leaving Wolverine out of any trailer this far out. I liked the tease!

      1. Yes, I’ve read so much about another low volume of films in 2024 due to the union strikes, etc. but the ones announced as coming out for the most part seem to be worthy of high anticipation.

      2. I hadn’t heard about the reduced number of releases. However, maybe the ‘low volume’ will hit after the summer blockbuster season. Or, perhaps it will hit in 2025, or not! 😁

Lastly, perhaps it’s the smaller budget films that are most impacted. Time will tell.

      3. The last thing I read was there were only 107 wide-release films set for this year compared to 124 in 2023. There are also a handful of weekends where no wide-release movie is slated to open. Perhaps studios will wrap and release some of those “smaller” films to make up the difference. Time will tell…but I’m really looking forward to the ones already on the schedule!😁

      4. I see. I’m glad it’s not too big a reduction. Hopefully, the no-wide-release-weekends won’t be grouped too close together. And we’ll hopefully have some good TV to distract us, if not some reading. Time to crack open some dusty books, perhaps! 😁

  3. Kinda surprised by the choice to withhold Wolverine in the trailer, though considering those BTS photos that leaked, the reveal probably wouldn’t be a shock to people at this point.

I too have gotten fatigued by this whole superhero enterprise, but I really think Deadpool can resuscitate the genre–in part because he can make fun of how confusing this multiverse & crossover shenanigans have gotten. Stoked for this!

    1. The ‘art of the tease’ is what I call the withholding of Wolverine. I think even though many know it’s happening, it’s not quite the same as the full reveal of the two of them actually sharing the screen and communicating. That I very much look forward to seeing.

Deadpool will definitely make jokes at the expense of the genre. As for ‘resuscitate,’ that’s quite a strong word. 😁 At the same time, anything is possible.

      1. In the way that I generally avoid movie news about what’s been green-lit, poster releases, a single clip, etc. The only movie news I lean into is the trailers. Add that to me not reading comic books, I can miss a lot. 🤓 But that then means I get great surprises such as Deadpool & Wolverine, or one of my all-time favourite and unexpected, plus thoroughly welcome trailer releases, CINDERELLA (2015). https://themoviemylife.com/2014/11/21/cinderella-2015

      2. Yes it’s increasingly hard to not get spoiled by movie marketing and social media before seeing a movie.
I found a loophole in a way I wait a year or more before watching a film so I tend to forget most of controversy or spoilers. Getting older plays in my favor. 😅

      3. Very true. We often don’t have to seek news to find it. I like your loophole. I have a similar approach when it comes to movies being made about events that only just happened. I.e, a film about the Lance Armstrong story soon after he was disgraced and the movie about Elizabeth Holmes, Theranos founder.

      4. Documenting the past is important and I see merit in movies and books made right after when things are fresh as well as much later with some perspective. Recently I’ve read part of a book about WW2 events which was published only a few years after the war ended. Interesting read.

      5. I haven’t seen this Cinderella and I didn’t even see the trailer, although it’s on my watchlist. My second son was not even 1 years old at the time so I have some years since 2011 where I had no idea what was coming out in the cinemas.
Watching it now it feels refreshing compared to most other Disney live action versions of animated classics.
