Directed by Matt Shakman (WandaVision (2021), The Fantastic Four – First Steps is the story of Marvel’s First Family.
Starring Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, balancing family time with the demands of defending Earth is a key part of this action/adventure/sci-fi story.
I’ll admit that I cannot say my film-loving senses came fully alive while this teaser trailer played. Except maybe when I saw and heard Pedro Pascal. Beyond that, the musical score sounds good.
As a non-reader of comic books, I’ll wait and see what the next trailer has in store. In the meantime, it’s perhaps worth remembering that I wasn’t very enthused by The Avengers (2012) trailer. Yet, after many positive responses from friends, I decided to watch and ended up exiting the cinema with a massive smile on my face.
What are your thoughts on this Marvel ‘period piece?’
Sarah Niles, Julia Garner, Natasha Lyonne, John Malkovich, Ralph Ineson and Paul Walter Hauser also star.
The Fantastic Four – First Steps Release Dates: July 25th, 2025 (US & UK)…

Ah, yes. That P. Pascal effect stays strong.
Amen! 🤓🥂
He’s magical too.
I’m a huge fan of the Fantastic Four from the comics. They’re a very important team that Stan Lee created before any other Marvel superheroes. I’ve been wanting a Fantastic Four movie set in the MCU for many years. The trailer didn’t blow me away, but I’m hopeful that they can do right by the team. Pedro Pascal is miscast, but I’ll wait to see if he wins me over.
Fingers crossed they do right by you and all other serious fans. Pascal has a tendency to pleasantly surprise. Stay hopeful, friend.
After so many movie reboots I feel a bit burned out, but the cast seems likable (Kirby and Pascal are adorable as actors), so I’m cautiously optimistic. 😀
Burned out is right. May the end result prove that caution was never necessary. 🤓🥂
I have a good memory of seeing the Jessica Alba Fantastic 4 with my late Uncle. It was a random choice but the only movie we ever saw together bc he lived in Africa most my life… “Flame On!”
I love that memory for you. I hope this reboot turns out great. 🙏🤞
It’s really hard for me to get excited about this because of all the previous blunders with this franchise, but I hope it’s good.
No one can blame you. The director, Matt Shakman seems to have a good track record. So, we’ll just have to keep our fingers crossed.
