Directed by Dan Berk and Robert Olsen, Novocaine is a new action/comedy/thriller about a man on a mission to save his kidnapped girlfriend. And, he has a superpower that those he has to fight to get her back have no idea about.
Jack Quaid, Ray Nicholson and Amber Midthunder star.
As this trailer played, I pictured so many young boys, in particular, finding Nate (Novocaine) an incredibly cool character. I feel similarly.
Nevertheless, I’ve actually watched a documentary about children born without the ability to feel pain. It may seem ‘super’ at first, but it’s quite perilous for them if they’re not properly supervised as they grow up.
I wonder if we’ll see a little of Nate (Novocaine’s) childhood. I know I want to.
What do you think?
Betty Gabriel, Dominique Maher, Evan Hengst, Conrad Kemp, DeVille Vannik and Jessica Leigh Stanley also star.
Novocaine Release Dates: March 14th, 2025 (US), March 28th, 2025 (UK)…
Happy Film Loving,

The plot is interesting. I do wonder how grossed out I’ll be because of the scary injuries that Nate will inevitably have.
That’s fair. I definitely reacted to the hand in hot oil moment.
I was not sure about Jack Quaid at first when I saw him in The Boys, but he’s likable and also becoming a good actor on his own, stepping boldly away from his father’s shadow. Like Colin Hanks, who has another big shoes to fill!
The movie looks cool, but it keeps bothering me I don’t understand (and the trailer makes no effort to clarify) how his superpower works. All the time I’m thinking ok, he doesn’t feel pain, but does that come with super fast healing as well? Otherwise, you’re just getting eaten alive without realizing it until half of your body is missing and you can’t walk anymore.
Sometimes I have no problem with suspension of disbelief, but other times a little detail bothers me so much, that I can’t get into it until I understand its inner logic (no matter how illogical might seem).
I’m not sure I’ve watched something Quaid is in outside of the perfectly entertaining Companion (2025).
All your questions are very fair. Fingers crossed that the movie answers them all, and well.
I’m not too crazy about blood and gore, but the story sounds interesting!
understandable. The story is just intriguing enough for me to give this a chance. I’m hoping for a good result.
