THE ELECTRIC STATE (2025): New Trailer From Chris Pratt, Millie Bobby Brown, Stanley Tucci, Woody Harrelson…

Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt’s latest movie The Electric State is a sci-fi/action/adventure about an orphaned teen (Brown) and her two companions as they search for her younger brother.

Directed by brothers Anthony and Joe Russo; Stanley Tucci, Woody Harrelson, Ann Russo and Greg Cromer are among the key cast.

Hmmmm…?

Some questions: Why does this feel silly but not in a great way? Why does Pratt’s character’s hair at 30 seconds into the trailer make me giggle each time I see it?

This may be one of those movies that’s not for me. Yet, I remain curious to see how it ends up and if my initial instincts are proved correct.

What do you think?

Vince Pisani, Camrus Johnson, Kurt Loder, Giancarlo Esposito, Necar Zadegan, Billy Gardell, Colman Domingo, Anthony Mackie and Jordan Black also star.

The Electric State Release Dates: March 14th, 2025 (US & UK)…

A MINECRAFT MOVIE (2025): New Trailer From Danielle Brooks, Jason Momoa, Jack Black and Jennifer Coolidge…

The journey to try and save the Overworld is well underway in the latest A Minecraft Movie trailer.

Danielle Brooks, Jason Momoa, Jennifer Coolidge and Jack Black star, while Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite (2004) directs.

Sometimes, a trailer doesn’t quite hit the first time I see it. Other times, it never will, even after the fourth or fifth viewing.

I enjoyed the A Minecraft Movie teaser trailer, and I’m glad to confirm that, even though this trailer ‘didn’t quite hit’ upon first viewing, surprise, surprise; I’m now into it.

Something tells me that the fun The Angry Bird (2016) movie vibes it’s giving has a portion to do with it.

Bring on the silly fun, I say!

A Minecraft Movie Release Dates: April 4th, 2025 (US & UK)…

WARFARE (2025): New Trailer Starring Will Poulter, Joseph Quinn, Noah Centineo, and Kit Connor…

Warfare (2025): Will Poulter, Noa Centnaio, A24
Warfare (2025): Will Poulter, Noa Centnaio, A24

Co-written/co-directed by Alex Garland and Ray Mendoza, Warfare is an action/drama/docudrama about an ex-Navy Seal’s real-life experiences during the war in Iraq.

Joseph Quinn, Will Poulter, Noah Centineo, Cosmo Jarvis, Finn Bennett and Kit Connor are among the key cast.

This looks quite terrifying. It also seems to have that good The Hurt Locker (2008) quality and the promise of fun male banter, the latter of which I can be quite partial to. Blame it on having brothers.

I also have to admit that I’m already worried because the trailer might be dropping hints about who may not make it to the end. Fingers crossed, I’m wrong.

Finn Bennett, Michael Gandolfini, Charles Melton, Henrique Zaga, Taylor John Smith, D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Adain Bradley, Alex Brockdorff, Evan Holtzman and Jake Lampert also star.

Warfare Release Dates: 2025…

KARATE KID – LEGENDS (2025): New Trailer Starring Jackie Chan, Ralph Macchio, Ben Wang, Joshua Jackson…

Karate Kid - Legends (2025), Ben Wang, Sony Pictures Entertainment

Karate Kid – Legends follows Li Fong (Ben Wang), a Kung Fu prodigy who’s forced to leave his Beijing home and move to New York City.

Directed by Jonathan Entwistle; Joshua Jackson, Jackie Chan, Ralph Macchio, Ming-Na Wen are among the key cast.

Nostalgia is the reason this appeals. That and the chance to watch bullies get silenced. Some impressive martial art, especially courtesy of young Wang, won’t hurt either.

Anyone else notice how the warm colours in this trailer make everything feel so cosy?

Shaunette Renée Wilson, Sadie Stanley, Aramis Knight, Wyatt Oleff, Ben Wang, Jennifer-Lynn Christie, Katrina Batur and Emile Pazzano also star.

Karate Kid – Legends Release Dates: May 30th, 2025 (UK & US)…

ARGYLLE (2024): The Things I Liked…

Argylle (2024), Henry Cavill, Ariana DeBose, John Cena, Apple TV+
Argylle (2024), Henry Cavill, Ariana DeBose, John Cena, Apple TV+

Directed by Matthew Vaughn of Kingsman – The Secret Service (2014), Argylle, an action/adventure/comedy about a reclusive novelist whose espionage stories mirror real-world events stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, John Cena, Henri Cavill and more.

Based on the trailer and Sam Rockwell’s reputation, I’m unsurprised to confirm that I enjoyed his character Aidan the most. Especially when he’s first introduced to the audience during his ‘long hair phase’. I also appreciated the well-choreographed, colourful and fun fight sequence towards the end.

As for the not-so-great things, there are a couple of instances where the less-than-stellar special effects proved distracting. The first is during the motorbike chase sequence in Greece. The second is in the skating sequence towards the end, a scene that first registered as fun and impressive but also started to read as quite ridiculous as it continued. A couple of continuity errors certainly didn’t help.

My main issue with Argylle is that even though it features some good characters, great story elements, choreography and dialogue, there’s so much going on, including twists and turns, that all proved a tad too exhausting. As such, Argylle is one to watch only if you’re particularly curious.
