Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die is the latest action/sci-fi/adventure from director Gore Verbinski.

Starring Sam Rockwell, Juno Temple, Zazie Beetz and Michael Peña, Rockwell plays an unhoused-looking man from the future. One who’s on a mission to recruit people to help him extinguish the terminal threat of a rogue artificial intelligence.

I love the title of this one. And if this trailer is anything to go by, we have plenty of laughter, great pacing and Rockwell magic in store.

Also, given what’s shown between 1:27 and 1:31 in this trailer, there might be some scares, too. I’m just glad that horror isn’t listed as a sub-category.

May this please be a well-executed film about the dangers of AI. What do you think of our chances?

Created by David Farr, Spy/mystery/thriller The Night Manager has a brand new season due in January 2026.

Starring Tom Hiddleston, Olivia Colman, Kirby Howell-Baptiste and more, we can expect more spy/crime-themed shenanigans of the thrilling kind.

Having not yet seen the highly rated first season, released in 2016, I like that I have something great to make time for before the January release of season 2.

Also, it looks as though it may just fill the James Bond-shaped gap in my film-loving life, thank goodness.

Have you seen season one of The Night Manager? It did score a 91% on Rotten Tomatoes, after all.

Douglas Hodge, Diego Calva and Camila Morrone also star.

Read my spoiler-free movie review of The Family Plan 2 (2025).

Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Monaghan are joined by Kit Harrington in the partly London, England-set sequel to action/comedy, The Family Plan (2023)

Directed by Simon Cellan Jones, Wahlberg is a former government operative, still on the run with his family while being pursued by deadly enemies.

The first instalment of The Family Plan wasn’t perfect, but it was fun, well-paced and oddly Christmassy, which, for me, is always a plus.

I’m hoping for much of the same with this sequel, and the London setting is a bonus. I’m also looking forward to what Harrington does as the villain.

Starring Elle Fanning, Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi, and directed by Dan Trachtenberg, the second trailer for the next Predator – Badlands action/sci-fi movie has arrived.

Bring on the search for the ultimate adversary, I say.

Hopefully, the pacing will be just right, and the story even better. Though I get the feeling this will be more focused on the action/fight sequences than the story. In which case, I hope the action and special effects are enough of a highlight.

What would be your reason for watching?

New sci-fi/crime/thriller Mercy has Chris Pratt playing a detective whose fate is to be determined by the AI (Rebecca Ferguson) he championed, after he’s accused of murdering his wife.

Annabelle Wallis, Kenneth Choi and Noah Fearnley are among the key cast, while Timur Bekmambetov directs.

I want this to be great, of course. But I don’t yet have the feeling it will be.

Still, I remain curious and will no doubt be very happy and pleasantly surprised if the quality of this film exceeds that of Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg’s Minority Report (2002), which I need to rewatch forthwith.

I suspect that what may be most impressive is what the film shows us about the level to which the American public is under surveillance. Additionally, wouldn’t it be quite the twist if Pratt’s character is actually guilty?
