HACKSAW RIDGE (2016): New Trailer From Mel Gibson, Starring Andrew Garfield…

Andrew Garfield is the star of Mel Gibson’s latest film, Hacksaw Ridge.

Garfield plays real-life WWII American Army Medic Desmond T. Doss, a man who joins the army but refuses to kill people.

I don’t know what the word is for how this trailer makes me feel, but I know I’ll have to be in the right mood to sit and watch.

This trailer gives off a kind of Forrest Gump (1994) quality but somehow manages to pull even harder at the heartstrings; all of which makes me think that the end product is going to be, dare I say, overly sappy.

Perhaps I’d be more intrigued had the trailer not revealed so much. All that has been left out of this trailer appears to be the presentation of the Medal of Honour. As continues to be the case, I find myself missing the good trailers of the past that cleverly showed you only enough but never too much.

My favourite Mel Gibson-directed movie will likely always be Apocalypto (2006).

Sam Worthington, Ryan Corr, Luke Bracey, Vince Vaughn and Hugo Weaving also star.

Hacksaw Ridge Release Dates: November 4th ,2016 (US); (GER)

WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT (2016): New Trailer Starring Tina Fey, Margot Robbie, Martin Freeman…

There’s a new Tina Fey comedy and it’s not Sisters (2015).

Starring Fey, Alfred Molina, Margot Robbie, Martin Freeman and Billy Bob Thornton, Whiskey, Tango Foxtrot (WTF) tells the story of Kim Barker (Fey), a US journalist stationed in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Firstly, I must give full points for the music in this trailer. It does a great job of setting the tone.

Generally, what I’m most excited about here is the humour, which I think will work as an antidote to the tension-filled Kilo Two Bravo (2014), (another war region movie) vibe.

My fingers  are crossed that this one works, especially since the last comedy set in Afghanistan (Rock the Kasbah (2015) apparently didn’t do so well.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot (WTF) Release Date (s): March 4th, 2016 (US & UK)…

EYE IN THE SKY (2016): Intense New Trailer Starring Helen Mirren & Aaron Paul…

I just saw a trailer I loved so much I could’t get my fingers to type quickly  enough to publish this post.

Starring Helen Mirren, Alan Rickman and Aaron Paul, I hope Eye in The Sky is as good as hinted by this trailer. That shouldn’t be too hard since ‘acting queen’, Helen Mirren is involved, and she’s yet to let me down.

A ‘Trailer of the Month’ contender? I think so.

Release Date (s): March 11th, 2016 (US); April 8th, 2016 (UK)…

MACBETH (2015): New Trailer Starring Michael Fassbender & Marion Cotillard

Having grown up mostly in England, a place where you learn about William Shakespeare and at least one of his great plays, including Macbeth, I wish I could say that I know the story of of the Scottish Duke very well. In reality, I’m more aware of the name Macbeth than the story of Macbeth.

Just as well then that a mighty good looking film, starring two of my favourite acting greats is due for release next month. Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard are the stars of of director Justin Kurzel’s adaptation.

I can’t wait to take in all the glorious cinematography. if this trailer is anything to go by, the film is going to be visually stunning.

David Thewlis, Elizabeth Debicki and Paddy Considine also star.

Release Dates: October 2nd (U.S. & U.K.)

BEASTS OF NO NATION (2015): Idris Elba Is Terrifying In Intense New Trailer

Read my spoiler-free movie review of Beasts of No Nation (2015).

Idris Elba is terrifying in the tension-filled trailer for his well-titled new movie, Beasts of No Nation.

With Cary Fukunaga, a brilliant director who’s best known for television series True Detective at the helm, combined with Elba’s intensity and young actor, Abraham Attah’s fresh talent, I think we’re in for another very promising film scheduled for 2015.
