Guy Richie directs Mena Massoud, Billy Magnussen, Will Smith and Naomi Scott in Disney’s live action remake of Aladdin.

The following trailer is just a teaser but in case you forgot, the story of Aladdin starts when a sultan gives his daughter, Jasmine three days to find a husband. She escapes the palace and encounters the street-savvy Aladdin who charms his way into her heart.

For a moment there, I was thinking, ‘Are they really not going to show any footage at all?’ and then the scene with the lamp happened, and though it’s hardly anything, I was happier than expected.

I didn’t actually realise I’d forgotten most of Aladdin’s story until I looked up the synopsis. Time to rewatch the animated version, I think.

Nasim Pedrad, Marwan Kenzari, Numan Acar, Kamil Lemieszewski and Navid Negahban also star.
