New drama/thriller The Secrets We Keep is about a young woman’s revenge for the heinous war crimes she believes her neighbour committed against her 15 years ago.

Set in post-WWII America and co-witten/directed by Yuval Adler; Noomi Rapace, Chris Messina, Joel Kinnaman and Amy Seimetz star.

The 40s/50s aesthetic is calling to me. Mostly though, I’m intrigued by the dynamic between Rapace and Messina’s characters. Particularly as the latter tries to decide how best to proceed after just finding out what his wife is capable of.

Lucy Faust, Kadrolsha Ona Carole, Victoria Hill, David Maldonado, Jeff Pope, Ritchie Montgomery, Ed Amatrudo and Frank Monteleone also star.

I’m sure that negative thoughts can indeed be ‘contagious.’ So I’m looking forward to where the story goes with this intriguing premise.

Also, I didn’t quite get a comedy vibe as this trailer played. Yet this movie is partly categorised as a comedy. Interesting…

After their cat is killed by a truck, said cat is laid to rest in the mysterious pet cemetery. The Creeds don’t fully know it yet but the cemetery is not quite as it seems. In fact, it soon proves to them that sometimes, dead is better…

I’ll start by saying that I already love the ‘…sometimes, dead is better‘ line. So spooky!

Having definitely not read the book, I’m drawn in by how clever this story seems to be. I’m interested in the thrills and maybe a few scares… but really, mostly the thrills, because I’m scared.
