YOU (2025): New Trailer Starring Penn Badgley, Charlotte Ritchie, Griffin Matthews, Anna Camp…

You, that hit Netflix series about a dangerously charming and intensely obsessive young man (Penn Badgley) who goes to extreme lengths to insert himself into the lives of those he is transfixed by, is back for a final season.

Created by Greg Berlanti and Sera Gamble, additional key cast includes Charlotte Ritchie, Anna Camp and Griffin Matthews.

I’ve watched all seasons of You, and certain seasons are better than others. Yet, each having their specific highlights.

I’m watching this final instalment because I MUST know Joe’s fate. I suspect once it’s done, I’ll miss the series style, specifically, the visuals and rhythm. Additionally, if I’m honest, I’m not quite ready to say goodbye to Badgley’s rather arresting voice work.

Another element that should be interesting to watch is the sibling/succession dramatics, especially since it appears Ana Camp will be playing two characters, if what we see at 0:50 seconds into the trailer is to be believed.

The subject matter is certainly not the lightest, but I just love how the edit from 1:33 into this trailer more than hints at Joe’s unravelling. May this season please, be the very best one yet.

Have you seen You?

Tati Gabrielle, Amy-Leigh Hickman, Kathryn Gallagher, Kathryn Gallagher, Nava Mau, Luke, Andrea Bianchi, Alex Benjamin and Julian A. Garcia also star.

You Release Dates: April 24th, 2025, Netflix…

In new crime/comedy/drama The Lovebirds, Issa Rae and Kumail Nanjiani are a couple trying to clear their name after being pulled into a bizarre murder mystery. Will their relationship survive the night following the day’s unexpected events?

Directed by Michael Showalter (The Big Sick (2017); additional key cast includes Anna Camp, Paul Sparks and Kyle Bornheimer.

I’m not yet sure that I’m sold on the premise/believability of this movie just yet, but I do want it to be good.

Also, it’s probably safe to say at this point that Hollywood currently has a thing for murder mysteries. First Murder Mystery (2019), Then Knives Out (2019), now The Lovebirds, and I’m probably forgetting another one or two. Maybe.

Joe Chrest, Kenneth Kynt Bryan, Moses Storm, Blaine Kern III, Andrene Ward-Hammond, Jaren Mitchell, Matthew Rimmer, Catherine Cohen, Rebecca Chulew and Kelly Murtagh also star.

The Lovebirds Release Dates: April 3rd, 2020 (US); April 24th, 2020 (UK)…

CAFE SOCIETY (2016): New Trailer From Kristen Stewart, Jesse Eisenberg, Blake Lively…

Read my spoiler-free movie review of Cafe Society (2016).

Woody Allen; writer/director of Blue Jasmine (2013), one of my favourite films is back.

Jesse Eisenberg, Kristen Stewart and Blake Lively are the stars of Café Society, a film set in the 1930s about a young man who moves to live and work in Hollywood.

Having just recently watched the unfortunate disappointment that is Hail, Caesar! (2016), I don’t know about seeing yet another movie about Hollywood from way back when. I may end up liking this, one can only hope, wait and see.

My fingers and toes are crossed.

Café Society Release Dates: May 11th, 2016 (FR); August 12th, 2016 (US)…
