20TH CENTURY WOMEN (2017): New Trailer From Annette Bening, Elle Fanning, Alia Shawkat…

20th Century Women (not Fox – as I thought at first glance), is the latest comedy/ drama starring Annette Bening, Elle Fanning and Alia Shawkat.

Written/directed by Mike Mills, the film looks at love and freedom as explored by three women in 1970s Southern California.

Annette Bening, the main, if not only reason I’d watch this movie, is an actor I’ve appreciated since American Beauty (1999)I’m  hoping that that love only grows after this film – especially since I’m not exactly in love with this trailer at present. Though, that may change tomorrow. There’s always a chance.

Additional cast includes Greta Gerwig, Billy Crudup and Laura Wiggins.

SPOTLIGHT (2015): Time To Watch The Good Guys Win…

Spotlight (2015), Mark Ruffalo
Spotlight (2015), Mark Ruffalo

Read my spoiler-free movie review of Spotlight (2015).

Mark Ruffalo, Michael Keaton, Rachel McAdams, Liev Schreiber, John Slattery and Stanley Tucci are the stars of Spotlight, a true story about abuse and a gross coverup.

This trailer has me thinking about why empathy and love are key to the eradication of the ills.

I’ll be watching because the cast is brilliant. Plus, I desperately want to see the good guys win.

Release Date(s): November 6th, 2015 (US), January 29th 2016 (UK)…

EAT PRAY LOVE (2010): Eat & Love, Clearly The Best Parts

Eat Pray Love (2010), Julia Roberts
Eat Pray Love (2010), Julia Roberts

Eat Pray Love had to be watched because I wanted to know the story of a person who chooses to  drastically change their life because what they have no longer makes them happy.

Said woman (Liz), played by Julia Roberts decides to embark on a three part journey, travelling from Italy to India then Bali in a period of twelve months. As you can imagine, she meets many interesting people en route.

If you’ve ever been to Italy or dreamt about going, you’ll love the first part of this movie. You’ll like it because it’ll remind you of what makes travelling great and particularly, all the things to adore about Italy. Those curious about what it can mean to be on a ‘spiritual journey’ will get the most out of part two, in India.

Eat Pray Love (2010), Javier Bardem

Filipe, (Javier Bardem) and pretty much everything that comes out of his mouth is a personal highlight of the final part of this movie. I particularly like his response to Liz when she says ‘I am so sick of people telling me I need a man.

Watch it if you’re curious about what he says and life changing adventures such as the one liz chooses.
