I like the words ‘four young men who mistake their lives for a movie…’ With a description that starts like that I can’t help but expect good things. I’m looking forward to finding out how all the madness turns out.

Hailee Steinfeld and Woody Harrelson star in The Edge of Seventeen, a  promising new high school comedy…

I’m sure the teen angst stuff will be interesting. However it’s another serving of the promise I saw in Hailee Steinfeld’s performance in True Grit (2010) that’ll get me to watch. That combined with Harrelson’s teacher character because he reminds me of another fun high school teacher role played by Jermaine Clement in People Places Things (2015).

Written and directed by Kelly Fremon; Kyra Sedgwick, Blake Jenner and Laine MacNeil also star.

Richard Linklater, director of Oscar winning film, Boyhood (2014) is back with Everybody Wants Some, a comedy centred around a group of college baseball players set in the 80s…

The makers have referred to the movie as the ‘spiritual sequel to Dazed & Confused (1993)’, a film I haven’t seen but it’s a comedy set in the 7os and follows the adventures of high schools students on the last day of school.

Everybody Wants Some will probably be my first experience of a Linklater comedy. Should be interesting but probably more so for big fans of 80s music because I’m sure the soundtrack is going to be a big deal.

Wyatt Russell, Ryan Guzman, Zoey Deutch, J. Quinton Johnson, Tyler Hoechlin and Blake Jenner star.
