Fantastic Beasts 2 – The Crimes of Grindenwald is the second instalment of the ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them‘ series.

Directed by David Yates; starring Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Ezra Miller, the story is all about the ongoing adventures of Newt Scamander.

I’m still yet to watch the first movie because fantasy isn’t my favourite genre. Nevertheless, it looks as though a lot of footage from the first movie has been used for this trailer. It could just be the general look of the films and the fact that Redmayne’s character appears to sport the same outfit at all times. You know, like Bart Simpson.

It could also be that the marketing people wanted to release something exactly a year before the first movie but they had absolutely nothing to show and so they opted to use old footage. That’s probably it.

I’m sure I’ll eventually make time for these movies. Especially since I put off watching Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, and actually rather enjoyed it when I saw it, finally.

EARLY MAN (2017): New Trailer From Tom Hiddleston, Eddie Redmayne, Maisie Williams…

Early Man (2018)
Early Man (2018)

Starring Tom Hiddleston, Eddie Redmayne and Maisie Williams, Early Man tells the story of how one plucky caveman unites his tribe against a mighty enemy.

Directed by Nick Park, this animation/comedy/adventure is set during the time of the dinosaurs and woolly mammoths.

I absolutely loved Chicken Run (2000). As such, I would adore it if this were as good, if not better. Especially since the same people are behind both films. Fingers, toes and everything crossed.

Early Man Release Dates: January 26th, 2018 (UK)…

THE DANISH GIRL (2015): For The Story Of Courage…

The Danish Girl (2015), Eddie Redmayne

Directed by Tom Hooper, The Danish Girl is a love story based on a book of the same name by  David Ebershoff. The lives of real people/artists in the 1930s, Lili Elbe and Gerda Wegener, are at the centre of Hooper’s film. We meet the pair in the lead-up to the point that Lili’s journey into becoming a transgender pioneer begins.

Considering the movie’s subject matter and the period in which The Danish Girl is set, you’d be right to assume that life was not easy for Lili long before and especially the moment she decided to be her true self. I find myself very glad to have been exposed to Lili and Gerda’s story at a time when, though very slowly indeed, humanity would appear to be moving in the right direction –  at least as far as the LGBTQ cause is concerned. Everything feels more hopeful as a result.

Performance-wise, though Eddie Redmayne disappointed me with what I’ve come to describe as the career blip of a movie that was Jupiter Ascending (2014). He’s of course still great thanks to The Theory Of Everything (2014) and now, The Danish Girl.

The Danish Girl (2015), Alicia Vikander

In her role as Gerder Wegener, I was impressed by Alicia Vikander’s performance. I only wish that I could say that I feel the same about her character’s wigs. Last but absolutely not least, Matthias Schoenearts. It’s simple really; I knew this after watching The Drop  (2014) but I absolutely must watch more of his movies. His work in The Danish Girl is perfectly measured. May we all be blessed with a friend as wise and thoughtful as his character, Hans.

My favourite part of the film overall is the ending. To say more would be to spoil, so if you haven’t already, watch it because it’s god and worthy.

FANTASTIC BEASTS & WHERE TO FIND THEM (2016): New Trailer Starring Eddie Redmayne, Colin Farrell…

Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them (2016), Colin Farrell

All J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and Wizard fans can rejoice, for there is a new trailer to excite you all.

Teaser trailer 2

Comic Con trailer

Written by Rowling, directed by David Yates and featuring a cast that includes Eddie Redmayne, Colin Farrell, Ezra Miller and Jon Voight, I’m intrigued by these first two teasers. The first, though a tad long winded, but the second one is just fantastic, no pun intended.

I’m almost certain that fans of good film will have a great time alongside Rowling fanatics.
