On the Basis of Sex is the Mimi Leder-directed drama/biography about Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg (RBG).

Starring Felicity Jones, Armie Hammer, Justin Theroux and Kathy Bates, the story focuses on RBG’s struggles for equal rights and all she had to overcome to become a U.S. Supreme Court Justice.

I’m in for the story of a smart and extraordinary woman. There’s also the courtroom action/dialogue to look forward to, plus the pleasant surprise, that is the cast and costumes. I love everything Jones is dressed in in this trailer.

ROGUE ONE – A STAR WARS STORY (2016): The Latest Trailer Starring Felicity Jones, Ben Mendelsohn, Riz Ahmed…

Rogue One - A Star Wars Story (2016), Ben Mendelsohn

The new Rogue One – A Star Wars Story trailer looks good and it definitely has less of a’low budget‘ feel compared to the teaser released back in April.

I’m thinking that the much reported re-shoots helped do the trick. May it turn out great for all the Star Wars fans.

A MONSTER CALLS (2016): New Trailer From Liam Neeson, Felicity Jones, Sigourney Weaver…

If you’ve ever wondered what it might be like to see and hear Liam Neeson playing a tree, today’s trailer is for you.

A Monster Calls is about a young boy who seeks the help of a tree to deal with what is arguably the most difficult experience of his life, his single mother’s terminal illness.

At this point, it should be no secret that I absolutely LOVE Liam Neeson’s voice. Nevertheless, the main reason I’m curious about this one is that I can’t imagine how the tree will be able to help, but I am open to finding out.

Are you also curious?

ROGUE ONE – A STAR WARS STORY (2016): New From Felicity Jones, Forrest Whitaker, Riz Ahmed…

Rogue One – A Star Wars Story. That’s right. Starring Felicity Jones, Mads Mikkelsen, Forrest Whitaker and Genevieve O’reilly, we have another new Star Wars movie.

Teaser Trailer

Trailer 1

I’ll admit that I’m not very excited about this one. But then again, I still have yet to watch a single Star Wars film because fantasy isn’t my favourite genre. Nevertheless, I couldn’t help but notice that the teaser trailer makes this film look more ‘low budget’ than Star Wars – Episode 7- The Force Awakens. It may appear low budget because, well, it is.

Those who really love the franchise likely won’t agree, but I’m just thinking, isn’t this overkill? It still feels like The Force Awakens was released just yesterday.

Instead of J.J. Abrams, Gareth Edwards is directing. Riz Ahmed, Jonathan Aris and Donnie Yen also star.

THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING (2014): The Things I Liked…

For those hoping that The Theory of Everything will delve deeply into the science that Professor Stephen Hawking is most famous for, that’s not the emphasis here. Instead, director James Marsh’s film focuses on the love story of Hawking, the acclaimed theoretical physicist plus cosmologist and his wife, Jane.

Starring Felicity Jones and Eddie Redmayne, The Theory of Everything is great for all the important reasons, including a brilliant script and memorable performances by all, especially Redmayne, whose Best Actor Oscar win for this very role is highly deserved.

Redmayne does a memorable job of embodying Hawking’s physicality, conveying his emotions and his famously mischievous sense of humour through all the stages of his life.

The Theory of Everything is about many things. For me, the thing that stands out most is what it has to say about the beauty of friendship, love and most of all, what is possible with the human spirit. As Hawking put it himself:

“There should be no boundary to human endeavour. We are all different. However bad life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at. While there is life, there is hope’.

If you haven’t already, watch it for all the reasons above.
