Tanna is a story of forbidden love, the chaos it brings and the resultant tussle between the old ways and the new.
Directed by Bentley Dean and Martin Butler, Tanna is set on a remote Pacific island and it’s a special production for reasons including, the fact that it’s performed by the people of the Yakel tribe in Yakel, Vanuatu.
I hope this is not too much like Game Of Thrones. You know, another ‘red wedding’, an example of just how badly things can turn out when a promised bride isn’t delivered.
It’s likely I won’t mind so much, as long as the performances are good and what happens story-wise is rooted in truth. It seems the chances are better than average since the story is based on real events.
Tanna Release Dates: August 5th, 2016 (FIN) November 2016 (FR)… More release info available on the Tanna Movie Facebook page.
