Hunter Schafer | The Movie My Life

Michelle Yeoh, Hunter Schafer and Dimitri Abold are the stars of new eight-episode series, Blade Runner 2099.

The action/sci-fi/mystery/thriller takes place fifty years after the events of Blade Runner 2049.

Interesting.

I’m happy that this will likely make me rewatch Blade Runner 2049 (2017). But I have to admit that my initial reaction upon first viewing the trailer wasn’t great. However, now that I’ve accepted that this will probably never be close to as good as director Denis Villeneuve’s version, I’ll let my general curiosity lead the way.

I like Yeoh, and I’m interested in comparing the visuals here to those in the 2017 film, which I enjoyed so very much.

What thoughts has this trailer conjured up for you?

Francis Lovehall, Tom Burke, Lewis Gribben, Johnny Harris, Wil Coban, Hugo Hamlet, Hassan Najib, Juliana Yazbeck, Allan Kneefel, Andrew Van Wilpe, Xueni Yang and Jenn Kirk also star.

Blade Runner 2099 Release Dates: November 25th, 2026 (US & UK)…

Happy Film Loving,

From writer/director David Lowery, Mother Mary is a new drama/music film about an iconic pop star who returns to her estranged costume designer. Inevitably, long-buried wounds resurface.

Anne Hathaway, Michaela Coel, Hunter Schafer and FKA twigs are among the key cast.

The trailer explicitly stating that ‘this is not a ghost story’ only makes me think that’s exactly what it is. Especially bearing in mind the visuals. I’m both curious and scared to see it. However, I’m too invested in its stars not to at least try to watch this.

Considering how emotionally taxing Hathaway’s role appears to be, I hope this movie turns out great, so it all feels extra worth it for her.

Will you be making time for this one?

Alba Baptista, Kaia Gerber, Parinas Esmailsadeh, Julia Stolba, Dani Vitale, Laura Meakin, Sian Clifford, Jessica Brown Findlay and Atheena Frizzell also star.
