2016 has come with another movie about forbidden love based on race. First we have Loving set in 1950s Virginia, USA – a true story which  stars Ruth Negga and Joel Edgerton. Today we have A United Kingdom, another true story of the love between African royalty (Prince Seretse Khama of Botswana) and a non-royal caucasian woman from London, England…

As is the case with Loving I’m looking forward to watching love win in A United Kingdom.

Directed by Amma Asante of Belle (2013) I’m excited for my faith in humanity to be renewed once more.

Jack Davenport, Arnold Oceng, Laura Carmichael and Charlotte Hope also star.
