ZOOTOPIA (2016): Good Movie, Beautiful Message…

My favourite types of Disney animated movies are the ones that do a great job of highlighting the importance of self belief  and following your heart; especially in the face of great opposition. Ratatouille (2007) is my favourite of this genre; then came Brave (2012) and now Zootopia.

Starring the voices of Idris Elba, Ginnifer Goodwin, Jenny Slate and Jason Bateman, there is plenty to adore besides the well-delivered positive messages. For one, that brilliant DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) scene. To say more about the scene would be to spoil, so refrain I must.

I love the story, the very-well imagined city of Zootopia and everything in it – including the design and all the little touches of humour that have nothing to do with dialogue. There’s also the classic Disney animated cuteness and a great main song for the soundtrack – Shakira’s ‘Try Everything

You probably have already, but, I say watch Zootopia again. I’ve seen it twice and will again to remind myself to keep my inner Judy Hopps at  the ready, always.

OFFICE CHRISTMAS PARTY (2016): New Trailer From Jennifer Aniston, Olivia Munn, Jason Bateman…

Office Christmas Party is the latest comedy from T.J. Miller, Olivia Munn, Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman.

Directed by Josh Gordon and Will Speck, the story involves a bunch of grownup office workers partying hard and behaving quite badly.

Ill advised as it may be, Jennifer Aniston and my love for her work on Horrible Bosses (2011) is the key reason I’ll be tuning in.

Not that I  want a carbon copy, of course. Nevertheless, I’d much rather this movie be like Horrible Bosses than  The Night Before (2015). The former was brilliant but the latter? Only good in trailer form.

May this also be nothing like Sisters (2015), a movie similar to The Night Before in the way that it features grownups unconvincingly doing things and behaving in ways that would make sense for teenagers only.

Office Christmas Party Release Dates: December 9th, 2016 (US & UK)…

CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE (2016): The Things I liked…

Central Intelligence (2016), Kevin Hart, Dwayne Johnson
Central Intelligence (2016), Kevin Hart, Dwayne Johnson

Central Intelligence is a watchable action/comedy because of the fantastic dynamic between Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson’s characters.

As for how believable I found the movie in regards to the way some of the story and action unfolded, let’s just say my disbelief was hardly ever fully suspended.

Nevertheless, i say watch it for the light entertainment and humour. Just don’t expect to be convinced by everything that takes place.

Jason Bateman’s small part is a highlight, as was the message about bullying.
