Downton Abbey, that gargantuan hit of a television drama about the lives of a British aristocratic family and their servants in the early twentieth century, has a final chapter.

Directed by Simon Curtis, Downton Abbey – The Grand Finale catches up with the Crawley family and their servants as they enter the 1930s.

I quit watching this show a long time ago, mainly because of that thing called patience, of which I tend to have little. The matter of marrying off a certain Lady simply took too long to reach its conclusion, so I moved on.

Now, however, I find myself somewhat intrigued by the general sumptuousness of the costumes/mise en scene in this trailer. Time will tell if I tune in upon release.

Directed by Michael Engler, the time has come for the Downton Abbey movie teaser trailer.  It doesn’t show much but it does confirm that the key cast of the television series are among the stars.

A cast that includes Dame Maggie Smith, Michelle Dockery, Hugh Hugh Bonneville, Joanne Froggatt, and Elizabeth McGovern – to name just a few…

I actually have no idea how Downton Abbey the television  series ended because I stopped watching before it was all concluded. I am however a little bit curious about this new feature film version. I want to know how well the series will translate to the big screen.

For fans of cats, another movie with a feline cast member is here. A Street Cat Name Bob is based on a true story about a man whose life was changed after he met a ginger cat.

Directed by Roger Spottiswoode and starring Luke Treadaway, Ruta Gedmintas and Joanne Froggatt, the movie is based on the best selling book by Garry Jenkins and James Bowen.

I’m curious about Bob’s particular brand of uniqueness. Especially because cats are known for not being the most thoughtful of pets but here we have one helping a man in need.

Assuming that a real cat is used to portray Bob, most of the time, I do find myself wondering just how  well Bob was compensated.
