The Secret – Dare to Dream is a movie adaptation of writer Rhonda Byrnes’s self-help book The Secret. The one that focuses on the power of positive thinking.

Director Andy Tennant’s key cast includes Katie Holmes, Josh Lucas, Jerry O’Connell and Celia Weston.

I haven’t read The Secret, but I’ve heard some arguments for and against it. Whether this movie will have people believing even more in the power of manifesting or not, it should still be interesting.

Sarah Hoffmeister, Aidan Pierce Brennan, Chloe Lee, Katrina Begin, Sydney Tennant, Samantha Beaulieu, Rosemberg Salgado, Jessie Terrebonne and Betsy Borrego also star.

What They Had stars Hilary Swank, Michael Shannon, Bythe Danner and Josh Lucas, in a story about a woman who returns home to confront her past after her Alzheimer’s-stricken mother wanders into a blizzard.

What They Had is written/directed by Elizabeth Chomko.

Considering the great cast, I’m quite sure this will be a good movie. The question for me is how badly I’ll want to see it, bearing in mind the dark subject matter, and having already watched Still Alice (2014), a good movie about dementia.

Blythe Danner playing a key character is a draw. I’ve liked her ever since Meet the Parents (2000). 

Taissa Farmiga, Aimee Garcia, Robert Forster, Jay Montepare and Anna Kabis also star.

In the new Joel David Moore-directed comedy/drama, Youth In Oregon, which stars Christina Applegate, Billy Crudup, Josh Lucas and Frank Langella, Crudup plays a man tasked with driving his father-in-law (Frank Langella) to Oregon to get legally euthanised.

Youth In Oregon will be the second movie I see after Last Cab To Darwin (2016) that involves a long drive to another town for the purpose of euthanasia. I wonder how this one will turn out.

My predictions are clear in my mind, but wouldn’t a surprise be nice?
