New Netflix series Running Point is a sport/comedy show that stars Kate Hudson as Isla Gordon, a newly appointed President of the family business, the LA Waves basketball team.
Additional key cast includes Brenda Song, Max Greenfield and Scott MacArthur.
I’m into the vibes that align with Rebecca Welton, Hannah Waddingham’s fun character in my favourite show of 2020, Ted Lasso. I also like the Hudson/Song pairing.
I say, bring on the humour and Isla’s ‘rising to the occasion’.
Drew Tarver, Chet Hanks, J.P. Manoux, Justin Hurtt-Dunkley, Nicholas Sayed and Jay Elis also star.
Starring Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Jenna Ortega, Justin Theroux and Willem Dafoe, the latest trailer for Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice looks quite fun.
I wonder, what occurred to you as this trailer played?
For me, the order of thoughts that went through my head include… Astrid feels strongly like a Wednesday Addams adjacent character. The guy who says‘Is your mom Lydia Deetz?’ actually looks like Miss Deetz. The special effects, the makeup, the look ‘n’ feel and the humour are why I’ll have to watch this one.
Lastly, isn’t the above image of Monica Bellucci just super?
Catherine O’Hara, Burn Gorman, Gianni Calchetti, James Fisher, Tim Kavanagh, Juliana Yazbeck, Filipe Cates, Travis Campbell, Leah Perkins and Christopher C. James also star.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024), Willem Dafoe, Warner Bros. Pictures
Directed by Tim Burton; starring Jenna Ortega, Michael Keaton, Willem Dafoe, Winona Ryder, and Catherine O’Hara Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is a follow-up to 1988’s comedy/fantasy hit film, Beetlejuice.
The original film was about a rollicking ghost hired to help haunt a house.
Beetlejuice (1988) is one of those movie titles I’m aware of. But, before this post, if I’d been asked to explain what the film is about, all I’d have for you is: ‘Michael Keaton, a black and white striped outfit, crazy green hair and Tim Burton.’ I may even have uttered the words: ‘Sort of like Edward Scissorhands(?)’ which I’m quite certain would be very incorrect.
I know little about the original movie because I’ve probably never seen it. However, I’m interested because the original was clearly well received, plus, Ortega’s involvement is a highlight, as is the peculiarity of ‘the Juice‘ himself.
What’s your history with Beetlejuice? How familiar are you with the original movie and are you curious about this continuation?
Justin Theroux, Burn Gorman, Gianni Calchetti, James Fisher, Juliana Yazbeck, Filipe Cates, Travis Campbell, Leah Perkins, Christopher C. James and Tim Kavanagh also star.
New horror/mystery/thriller, False Positive stars Ilana Glazer (Lucy) and Justin Theroux as a couple who are finally expecting after months of trying.
Soon after learning she’s expecting a healthy baby girl, Lucy suspects that something isn’t quite right about her fertility doctor, and sets out to uncover the unsettling truth.
Directed by John Lee; Sophia Bush, Pierce Brosnan and Gretchen Mol are among the key cast.
Hello, total nightmare!
This is just the kind of thing to help settle any young woman/ future mother’s mind, isn’t it?
Besides horror that’s based around religion, body horror is one of the scariest things for me to watch. Only, with religion-focused-horror, I steer completely clear. Especially after watching The Omen (1976) at age twelve and subsequently not being able to sleep for an entire week. Whereas some body horror, like this one, I’m curious enough to consider watching. After all, it is Theroux and Bush.
Sullivan Jones, Josh Hamilton, Sabina Gadecki, Lucy Walters, Kelly AuCoin, Taylor Ortega, Francesca Faridany, Zainab Jah, S.J. Son and Nils Lawton also star.
Mosquito Coast is the latest adventure/drama/thriller seven-part Apple TV+ series starring Justin Theroux and Melissa George. It’s the story of an idealist who uproots his family at brief notice to move them to Latin America.
I didn’t realise I hadn’t seen George in a movie in a while until this trailer. How the story explains the parents’ seemingly questionable life choices is why I’m in for this one. The children’s emotional journey through it all is another reason I’m interested. Last but not least, it’s an adventure/thriller. Who doesn’t like those?
John J. Concado, Kimberly Elise and Scotty Tovar also star.
