New action/thriller The Marksman has Liam Neeson as Jim, a rancher on the Arizona border who becomes the unlikely defender of a young Mexican boy.

Directed by Robert Lorenz; with additional key cast that includes Katheryn Winnick and Teresa Ruiz; Jim desperately flees the cartel assassins who’ve pursued him into the U.S.

Why am I interested in this, even though it looks like it’ll follow a very similar formula to past Neeson movies? Very simple. It’s Neeson and the formula keeps being repeated because I’m still here to keep watching. That is all.

Juan Pablo Raba, Dylan Kenin, Luce Rains, Dominic Cancelliere, Chase Mullins, Alex Knight and Ming Wang also star.

In The Dark Tower, Idris Elba plays a gunslinger named Roland Deschain, a man who roams an Old West-like landscape in pursuit of the ‘man in black’ (Matthew McConaughey). Deschain is also searching for the fabled Dark Tower in hopes that reaching it will preserve his dying world…

The plot of The Dark Tower is certainly unlike any Stephen King story I’m familiar with and that’s reason enough for me to watch. There’s also the names Matthew McConaughey and Idris Elba to convince me further. I really want this to be good; toes, fingers and everything crossed.

Katheryn Winnick, Tom Taylor, Nikolaj Arcel, Abbey Lee and Claudia Kim also star.

Geostorm is the latest sci-fi / disaster movie  starring Gerard Butler, Jim Sturgess, Abbie Cornish, Eugenio Derbez and some super expensive special effects. Directed byDean Devlin, the story centres around a climate controlling satellite that needs to be stopped from creating one of the biggest storms the world has ever seen…

I’m going to be honest, I’m tuning in mainly for the special effects. Everything else will just be a bonus. As such, may the effects please be as thrilling as they are in San Andreas (2015).

Kathryn Winnick, Alexandra Maria Lara and Gregory Alan Williams also star.
