Starring Anna Faris, Eugenio Derbez and Eva Longoria, Overboardis a comedy / romance about a very spoiled, wealthy yacht owner who ends up the target of revenge at the hands of his mistreated employee.
Directors Bob Fisher and Rob Greenberg’s movie is exactly as I thought; just the kind of fun ridiculousness I could enjoy – especially when in the mood for an ‘easy-going comedy / romance movie.’
I was moved, amused and the dynamic between Faris and Longoria’s characters is a personal highlight. In fact, I liked the chemistry between the entire cast. There’s a a togetherness and sense of community between them that shone through and made me smile.
I think I wasn’t more enthusiastic at trailer viewing stage because of how the last Eugenio Derbez movie – How To Be A Latin Lover turned out. It might even be safe to say at this point that Derbez has crossed over from the Latin American market straight into my movie loving heart. Something I’m sure had more than a little to do with his characters personal growth as the film progressed.
Having not seen the 1987 version of this movie, I haven’t a clue how they compare. Either way I say watch it when in the mood for an ‘easy’ film and because Faris is always fun.
Bob Fisher and Rob Greenberg are the directors of Overboard, a remake of the 1987 comedy where a spoiled, wealthy yacht owner is thrown overboard and becomes the target of revenge from his mistreated employee.
Eva Longoria, Anna Faris and Eugenio Derbez star…
I kind of know that this is going to be a tad ridiculous but I think it may just be the kind of ridiculous that I don’t find completely intolerable.
The Nutcracker And The Four Realms tells the story of a young girl who is transported into a magical world of gingerbread soldiers and an army of mice.
Directed by Lasse Hallström and Joe Johnston; Helen Mirren, Keira Knightley, Morgan Freeman and Mackenzie Foy are among the key cast.
I couldn’t help but think of Alice In Wonderland as this trailer played. I’ve also just realised that I don’t think my childhood featured a moment when I learnt about The Nutcracker story. In which case I look forward to being surprised with it. it could also be that my memory is just bad.
Starring Salma HayekEugenio Derbez and Rob Lowe, How To Be Latin Lover is a movie I watched because I adore Salma Hayek, I was curious about Eugenio Derbez and the trailer amused me.
How To Be A Latin Lover centres around Derbez’s character – Maximo; a man who’s forged a career out of seducing rich older women. Unfortunately for him, however, his 25 year marriage just ended and with nowhere else to go, he finds himself living with his estranged sister.
Quite early in the movie, I realised precisely how the story was going to go. A lot of what I realised could have been guessed during the trailer; only, I was far too busy being amused. I stayed with the movie until the end because of the reasons I already mentioned – but additionally, I happened to be in the mood for a film that didn’t require too much from me. The often silly humour was OK. Though, the ending did seem to come about quite abruptly – and in a way I wasn’t fully expecting. Overall, I can say I regret nothing because I knew what I’d signed up for. My love of Hayek remains and Derbez… He’s OK.
I can’t say that I picture myself telling people ‘you simply must see this,’ but I do see myself at some point in the future, referencing the scene in the trailer with the shoe dye and the pool.
Geostorm is the latest sci-fi / disaster movie starring Gerard Butler, Jim Sturgess, Abbie Cornish, Eugenio Derbez and some super expensive special effects. Directed byDean Devlin, the story centres around a climate controlling satellite that needs to be stopped from creating one of the biggest storms the world has ever seen…
I’m going to be honest, I’m tuning in mainly for the special effects. Everything else will just be a bonus. As such, may the effects please be as thrilling as they are in San Andreas (2015).
Kathryn Winnick, Alexandra Maria Lara and Gregory Alan Williams also star.
Starring Salma Hayek, Rob Lowe, Michael Cera and Eugenio Derbez, How To Be A Latin Lover is a Ken Marino directed comedy about a man who made a career of seducing rich older women. However, he now finds himself living with his estranged sister after his 25 year marriage ends…
I’ll mainly be tuning in in hopes of good humour and because of my general love for Salma Hayek.
McKenna Grace, Kristen Bell and Raphael Alejandro also star.
