OXYGEN (2021): New Trailer From Mélanie Laurent, Mathieu Amalric, Marc Saez…

Imagine waking up in a cryogenic chamber with no recollection of how you got got there, and you have to find a way out before you run out of air.

Directed by Alexandre Aja; Mélanie Laurent, Mathieu Amalric and Marc Saez are the stars of new sci-fi/thriller, Oxygen.

This is only a teaser trailer, but assuming that all the action takes place inside the cryogenic chamber, I’m in to see how engaging this viewing experience will be.

Hoping this is a good movie; though I can’t imagine this being too fun for the claustrophobic.

Malik Zidi, Eric Herson-Macarel, Cathy Cerda, Pascal Germain, Laura Boujenah, Marie Lemiale and Lyah Valade also star.

Oxygen Release Dates: May 12th, 2021 (US), Netflix…

Read my spoiler-free movie review of 6 Underground (2019).

Director Michael Bay’s latest action / thriller stars Ryan Reynolds, Dave Franco, Ben Hardy and Mélanie Laurent.

The story centres around six agents who decide to fake their own deaths and form an elite vigilante squad in order to eliminate notorious criminals.

I’m excited. Are you excited? I’m excited, mainly because of Reynolds, the good looking action sequences and also the Reynolds and Franco dynamic.

Adria Arjona, Corey Hawkins, Shubham Saraf, Bahara Golestani, Payman Maadi, Hélène Cardona, Lior Raz, Sebastian Roché, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Sitara Attaie and James Murray also star.

6 Underground Release Dates: December 13th, 2019 / Netflix…

OPERATION FINALE (2018): New Trailer From Oscar Isaac, Ben Kingsley, Mélanie Laurent, Joe Alwyn…

Operation Finale (2018), Oscar Isaac
Operation Finale (2018), Oscar Isaac

Operation Finale is the true story of the team of secret agents brought together to find Adolf Eichmann, the infamous Nazi architect of the Holocaust.

Set 15 years after World War II, Operation Finale is directed by Chris Weitz and stars Oscar Isaac, Ben Kingsley, Mélanie Laurent, Joe Alwyn…

I’m excited at the prospect of seeing Ben Kingsley in a movie that looks worthy of his talents. I also want the bad guy caught, of course.

As I watched this trailer, it occurred to me that so iconic is Christoph Waltz’s turn as Col. Hans Landa in Inglorious Basterds (2009), I will probably always think of him every time I see another actor in the Colonel uniform of Adolf Hitler’s Nazi army. I confess that I say this as someone who’s yet to watch Schindler’s list.

Nick Kroll, Lior Raz and Haley Lu Richardson also star.

Operation Finale Release Dates: September 14th, 2018 (US)…

TOMORROW (2016): New Trailer For Climate Change Documentary From Mélanie Laurent & Cyril Dion

Tomorrow (2016), Cyril Dion, Mélanie Laurent
Tomorrow (2016), Cyril Dion, Mélanie Laurent

Tomorrow is the result of the action that actress Mélanie Laurent and journalist / NGO director Cyril Dion decided to take, after learning about the very real challenges humanity will be facing in the not too distant future, thanks to climate change…

I’m curious to learn about Laurent and Dion’s  specific perspectives and how what they came to know has inspired them to take action; specifically to shine a light on all the people doing great things and suggesting solutions for the future of our planet.

BY THE SEA (2015): Latest From Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie Pitt. I really want It To Be Great

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Pitt are in a movie together. The film is written/ directed by Angelina and they’re playing a couple in crisis…

Teaser trailer

Trailer 1

I’m a tad late in writing about this movie. Reason being, I was disappointed that the trailer didn’t have me more excited. Upon reflection though, I think my lack of excitement may have been because I’ve seen some exceptionally thrilling trailers this summer, and By The Sea is a complete change of pace.

It could also be the case that the trailer simply doesn’t excite me. Further still,I may also be afraid I won’t enjoy watching a real life couple (that I admire) playing a couple who are clearly in trouble. It’s just too close to a worst case scenario that I don’t really want to contemplate.

I write all that to say that had the same trailer been released, but with Angelina and a different actor or Brad and a different actress, would I have the same reservations? I’m thinking probably not.

I’ll still definitely watch, of course.

Release Dates: November 13th 2015 (U.S.), December 11th 2015 (U.K.)

Happy By The Sea 🙂
