IS GOD IS (2026): New Trailer Starring Vivica A. Fox, Sterling K. Brown, Mallori Johnson, Janelle Monáe, Kara Young…

From writer/director Aleshea Harris, Is God Is is a new drama/mystery about the epic revenge quest of two sisters, one that stars Vivica A. Fox, Janelle Monáe, Sterling K. Brown, Kara Young and Mallori Johnson.

Epic seems to be the right word for this one.

Should I be concerned that so many of the movies exciting me this year are super violent?

It’s no secret that well-executed vengeance stories are among my favourites, and they rarely come without brutality. Still, there seems to be a real concentration of them in 2026. For example: The Bluff (2026), They Will Kill You (2026), Ready or Not 2 (2026), and now, Is God Is.

Maybe there was a dearth of violent films in recent years, and they’re now simply arriving all at once. Or perhaps it’s somehow a sign of the times. Either way, I’m here for the cinematic spectacle.

Xavier Nealy-Davis, Mykelti Williamson, Erika Alexander, Janelle Monáe, Xavier Mills, Josiah Cross, Justen Ross, Rhonda Johnson Dents, Lena Clark and Mark Druhet also star.

David Oyelowo, Storm Reid and Mykelti Williamson star in Don’t Let Go, a new mystery/thriller directed by Jacob Estes.

Oyelowo plays uncle Jack, a man whose family dies in what appears to be a murder and he gets a phone call from one of the dead, his niece.

A good trailer. The premise is compelling, and my heartstrings have been pulled. Now I’m just hoping for a well-paced time-travelling story and memorable performances.

Daniel R. Lawson, Omar Leyva, Shinelle Azoroh and Byron Mann also star.

FENCES (2016): New Trailer From Denzel Washington, Viola Davis, Jovan Adepo…

Denzel Washington is the star and director of Fences, a new drama about an African American father who’s struggling with race relations whilst raising his family in 1950s America.

Also starring the remarkable Viola Davis, Fences is based on the Pulitzer Prize winning play by August Wilson.

I’m very interested in this one because of the issues it deals with and for the chance to see two acting powerhouses – Davis and Washington face off on screen. I’m also very excited for Jovan Adepo, a young British actor getting to do his thing opposite the Denzel. I can only imagine the dream it must be.

Fences Release Dates: December 25th, 2016 (US)…
