The Better Sister is a new 8-part drama/mystery/thriller starring Elizabeth Banks, Jessica Biel and Corey Stoll.

Biel (Chloe) and Banks (Nicky) play sisters whose long-hidden family secrets are unveiled in the wake of the murder of Chloe’s husband.

I’m always extra impressed when actors cast as siblings look like they could be related in real life; Biel and Banks, for example.

I’ve taken a couple of good guesses at how The Better Sister may play out. It would be nice to be surprised. Either way, bring on the sisterly dynamics, especially considering these two have always been fun to watch.

Are you in for the Banks and Biel face/off?

The Better Sister Release Dates: May 29th, Prime Video…

SKINCARE (2024): New Trailer From Elizabeth Banks, Nathan Fillion, Lewis Pullman, Luis Gerardo Méndez…

New thriller Skincare follows Hope Goldman (Elizabeth Banks), a skincare specialist. One who’s forced to take matters into her own hands to protect her business and reputation from sabotage, after a competitor opens a boutique across the street.

Directed by Austin Peters; Nathan Fillion, Lewis Pullman and Luis Gerardo Méndez are among the key cast.

Go, Hope, go!

Of course, I mean ‘Go Hope, go, and protect your business and livelihood’. Not go away and let that saboteur get away with everything.

I’m looking forward to Banks’s performance and seeing precisely how Hope comes out on top. The words ‘Take control of your narrative. Sometimes you have to start a fire to put it out‘ brings back memories of the stalking/harassment situation in Baby Reindeer (2024).

Read my spoiler-free movie review of Charlie’s Angels (2019).

Charlie’s Angels is an updated version of the action movie released in 2000 – a movie inspired by the 1970s television series.

With Lucy Liu, Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore now out of the picture; Elizabeth Banks directs Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska as the new Charlie’s Angels.

I watched the 2000 Charlie’s Angels movie a long time ago. As such, I don’t fully recall how I felt about it overall. I think I liked it, and I definitely love the Destiny’s Child song (Independent Women) that was included in the soundtrack.

Having now seen this new trailer, let’s just say that I’m hopeful this reboot will pleasantly surprise us all. Fingers, toes and everything crossed!

Luis Gerardo Méndez, Jonathan Tucker, Noah Centineo, Sam Claflin, Djimon Hounsou, Patrick Stewart and Robert Maaser also star.

Charlie’s Angels Release Dates: November 15th, 2019 (US); November 29th, 2019 (UK)…

BRIGHTBURN (2019): New Trailer From Elizabeth Banks, Meredith Hagner, David Denman…

In new horror movie Brightburn, a child from another world crash-lands on Earth, only, instead of becoming a hero to mankind, he’s something far worse.

Directed by David Yarovesky; Elizabeth Banks, Meredith Hagner, David Denman, Jackson A. Dunn and Matt Jones star.

Banks is my reason for wanting to see this one. Whether I make it to the theatre or not is another matter entirely. I mean, after all, this is categorised as horror rather than horror/drama/mystery. You know, like  A Quiet Place (2017) –  a scary-ish movie I had no issue watching because I knew it wouldn’t be too terrifying, due to it only being part horror rather than solely categorised as horror.

Brightburn Release Dates: May 24th, 2019 (US & UK)…
