New action/fantasy Thunder Force stars Melissa McCarthy, Octavia Spencer, Jason Bateman and Bobby Cannavale.

Written/directed by Ben Falcone; Spencer and McCarthy play two estranged childhood best friends who reunite after one devises a treatment that ends up giving both of them super powers.

My fingers are crossed that Thunder Force is one of those McCarthy movies that I really enjoy; rather than the variety I have to stop watching within 15 minutes.

There must be hope because I find myself very amused by the vision of McCarthy’s Lydia taking the rapid breaths at 0:51 in this trailer. Also, there’s the inclusion of Bateman, plus the chemistry between the two ladies that intrigues me.

Sarah Baker, Melissa Ponzio, Shane Berengue, Tyrel Jackson Williams, Braxton Bjerken, Trevor Larcom, Patrick R. Walker, Marcella Lowery and Taylor Mosby also star.

Thunder Force Release Dates: April 9th, 2021, (US), Netflix…

Imagine your life being turned upside down because you’re selected for observation by the world’s first superintelligence – a form of artificial intelligence that may or may not take over the world.

In new action/comedy Superintelligence, that is the reality of Carol Peters (Melissa McCarthy), the most average person on Earth.

Directed by Ben Falcone; additional key cast includes James Corden, Bobby Cannavale and Jean Smart.

I’m hoping this is a good McCarthy movie because it’s good to see her back; along with Cannavale and Henry.

I’m now definitely trying to decide which famous person’s voice I’d like Superintelligence to adopt if I were in Carol’s shoes. Right now I’m thinking Kristen Bell, Angela Bassett, Phylicia Rashad or Vegan actor/influencer Tabitha Brown. Or perhaps, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Bradley Cooper and other males with great deep voices.

Who would be your ideal Superintelligence voice?

Sarah Baker, Jock McKissic, Karan Soni, Jwaundace Candece, Michael Beach, Usman Ally, Damon Jones, Jay Lay, Jenna Perusich, and Carolyn Trahan also star.

Superintelligence Release Dates: November 26th, 2020 (US)…

THE KITCHEN (2019): New Trailer From Tiffany Haddish, Melissa McCarthy, Elisabeth Moss, Domhnall Gleeson…

The Kitchen (2019), Tiffany Haddish, Elisabeth Moss, Melissa McCarthy, Warner Bros. Pictures

Tiffany Haddish, Elisabeth Moss, Melissa MacCarthy and Domhnall Gleeson are the stars of new crime / drama The Kitchen.

Directed by Andrea Berloff, it’s the story of the wives of New York gangsters in Hell’s Kitchen in the 1970s, as they continue to operate their imprisoned husbands’ rackets…

I’m in for the Widows (2018) vibes. I’ll of course be comparing the two movies. Which will I like more? I wonder…

Common, Margo Martindale, James Badge Dale, Jeremy Bobb, Bill Camp and Brian d’Arcy James also star.

The Kitchen Release Dates: August 9th, 2019 (US); September 20th, 2019 (UK)…

CAN YOU EVER FORGIVE ME? (2018): New Trailer From Melissa McCarthy, Dolly Wells, Richard E. Grant…

Can You Ever Forgive Me? (2018), Melissa McCarthy

Directed by Marielle Heller; starring Melissa McCarthy, Dolly Wells and Richard E. Grant, Can You Ever Forgive Me? is based on the true story of Lee Israel.

Israel was a celebrity biographer whose writing fell out of step with current tastes. And so Israel turned her art form to deception…

There’s no doubt in my mind that McCarthy’s performance will prove notable. I just hope that the story’s execution is adequately engaging overall. I’d be even more confident if I didn’t feel as though this trailer had revealed more than it probably needed to.

Also, knowing that ‘acting queen’ Julianne Moore dropped out of playing McCarthy’s role is not a thing that results in increased confidence. Nevertheless, all could still turn out great because as well as being a biography / drama, Can You Ever forgive Me? is also a comedy.

Jennifer Westfeldt, Joanna Adler, Julie Ann Emery, Alice Kremelberg and Anna Deavere Smith also star.

Can You Ever forgive Me? Release Dates: October 19th, 2018…
