Read my spoiler-free movie review of Monster – The Ed Gein Story (2025).

American murderer and suspected serial killer Ed Gein is the subject of Netflix’s latest story in their anthology series about high-profile crimes and killers.

Co-created by Ian Brennan and Ryan Murphy, Monster – The Ed Gein Story stars Charlie Hunnam, Tom Hollander and Olivia Williams.

Hello darkness!

I’m excited to see Hunnam’s impressive transformation because he’s a brilliant actor. But, since I’m still in my ‘not too dark, please’ era of film-loving, who knows if I’ll get round to watching this. Perhaps I’ll give it a go and see how far I can get. At the very least, I’ll watch all the trailers Netflix releases.

What are your thoughts on part 3 of Murphy and Brennan’s Monster series? So far, I’ve watched exactly zero, because both Monster – The Jeffrey Dahmer Story (2022) and MonstersThe Lyle and Erik Menendez Story (2024) proved too disturbing.

Laurie Metcalf, Suzanna Son, Vicky Krieps, Lesley Manville, Joey Pollari, Charlie Hall, Tyler Jacob Moore and Addison Rae also star.

Monster – The Ed Gein Story Release Dates: October 3rd, 2025 (US & UK)…

THE WHITE KING (2016): New Trailer Starring Olivia Williams, Jonathan Pryce, Agyness Deyn…

The White King (2016), Lorenzo Allchurch

Starring Lorenzo Allchurch, Agyness Deyn and Jonathan Price, The White King, is about a 12 year old boy’s life in a dystopian society. A society/ dictatorship where traitor is the word the government uses to describe him and his mother following his father’s imprisonment.

The trailer is disturbing, thanks to the story, edit and music. Though The Hunger Games crossed my mind as I watched, I’m hoping there’s more difference than similarity between both films.

Directed by Alex Helfrecht and Jörg Tittel, the film is based on a book of the same name by György Dragomán.
